Manufacturing at Volkswagen's multi-brand site in Bratislava
Since the announcement of the Taycan as Porsche's full EV model in 2019, Porsche has already officially announced that the full EV Macan, full EV718, and full EV Cayenne will follow.
Furthermore, although the model name and details have not been announced yet,It is said that it is called by the code name "K1" inside the Porsche company., It has been announced that a full EV SUV, which is positioned higher than Cayenne, will also come out, and it has already been decided that this K1 will be produced at the Porsche factory in Leipzig.
Here, I would like to look back on Cayenne.
The Cayenne has established itself as Porsche's sporty SUV model for over 20 years. It is one of Porsche's most successful models.
With 95,604 Cayenne deliveries worldwide in 2022, this is the highest record for any Porsche model line-up.
Since Cayenne started production in 2002, Slovakia had a close relationship with the factory in Bratislava.
At first, it seems that the production flow was that the painted body was sent from the Bratislava factory to the Leipzig factory, but when it became the third generation Cayenne, all Cayenne production itself was moved to Bratislava. About.
That was 2017.
Since then, both the combustion engine and plug-in hybrid versions of the Cayenne have been produced at the Bratislava plant.
Therefore, it was decided that the 4th generation full EV Cayenne, which will be announced in the future, will also be produced as the first full SUV at the Bratislava plant.
The Bratislava plant is currently preparing to start series production of the new Cayenne, which will be significantly upgraded.
