Limited to 20 units for the Kuwait market: Porsche 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition

Posted: Posted:

This model, limited to 20 units for the Kuwaiti market, commemorates the 70th anniversary of the first Porsche import to the Middle East.

Porsche has announced a limited edition model to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Porsche brand's presence in the Middle East.

Incidentally, the first Porsche imported into the Middle East was reportedly a Porsche 356 Cabriolet brought to Kuwait by Morad Behbehani in 1956.

And apparently, the Behbehani family, who imported that first 356, are still the official Porsche importer in Kuwait.

Porsche 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition

This limited edition model is named the Porsche 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition, and is based on the latest 992.2 generation 911 Turbo S.

The production volume is the same as the Japan-exclusive model that was recently announced."911 GT3 Artisan Edition"Only 20 units were produced, even fewer than the limited edition of 30 units.

The limited edition model announced this time features Sadu patterns on the exterior and interior as an homage to Sadu, and has been specially finished by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

A tribute to Kuwait's Sadu cultural heritage

By the way, what exactly is this Sadu pattern? It's a type of traditional woolen fabric called "Al Sadu," which has a long history throughout the Arabian Peninsula, including Kuwait, and is characterized by its horizontal pattern. *Al Sadu and Sadu basically refer to the same thing → Adding Al makes it something like "The Sadu."

It is said to be one of Kuwait's most famous and long-standing handicrafts, and its unique geometric patterns have historically held both symbolic and decorative value.

Sadhu weaving was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2020 and continues to inspire contemporary design.

It makes perfect sense that this design was chosen for the Kuwait-exclusive Porsche 911.

Interior highlights

The Sadhu Edition features a two-tone leather interior in black and burgundy red, accented with light silver.

Furthermore, the dashboard, doors, rear compartment, seats, and center console feature hand-stitched cross-stitch in GT Silver (cross-stitch) and Bordeaux Red (line stitch), creating a distinctive interior.

Furthermore, the sports seats also feature a new textile with a Sadhu pattern.

The center of the door panel also features a Sadhu pattern textile, and the headrests are engraved with the words "70 Years" in Arabic script to commemorate the 70th anniversary.

Other features include a GT sports steering wheel with a smooth black leather finish, a Bordeaux red 12 o'clock marking, GT silver stitching, and a colored Porsche crest.

The center console, adorned with an embossed exclusive manufacture logo, is upholstered in Bordeaux Red leather with GT Silver hand-stitched cross-stitching.

The car keys, key cases, and even the owner's manual case are finished with a design unique to the Sadhu Edition.

The black brushed aluminum door sill guards feature 20 square motifs, of which only the seventh lights up in red.

The 20 squares represent the limited edition of 20 units, and the seventh motif, which lights up red, symbolizes the 70th anniversary of Porsche's entry into the Middle East.

To create a striking contrast with the predominantly red interior, the seatbelts are silver-gray.

The sound system is Burmester®, and it comes with a black digital tachometer and Sport Chrono trim.

Exterior design

The body color is cream white (51A), and it is accented with a high-gloss black sports design package.

The wheels are 20-inch/21-inch Sport Classic wheels with a special paint job in cream white and high-gloss black.

Although the vehicle is based on the Turbo S, the wheels feature a colored Porsche crest instead of the Turbo Night logo, similar to the hood.

The words "Turbo S Sadu Edition" are written in gold on both B-pillars.

The lower part of the doors and the underside of the rear wing feature Sadhu pattern decals in Bordeaux Red, Guards Red, GT Silver, and Black.

Other features include a specially designed fuel filler cap, titanium sports tailpipes, an electrically operated sliding/tilting glass sunroof, a front axle lift system, and black high-gloss Porsche ceramic composite brakes (PCCB).

Further personalization is possible with Sonderwunsch.

The Sonderwunsch program allows you to further personalize your car, so you can choose options such as a Sadhu-patterned fabric lining for the front trunk and glove box.

Incidentally, the price of this Sadu Edition has not yet been announced.
