On August 14, 2026, Porsche unveiled a car built as a factory one-off by Sonderwunsch for a customer. It was based on the 991.2 generation (2018) 911 GT2 RS and inspired by the '935/78 "Moby Dick"' and other models.
The Porsche that was unveiled is the "Flachbau RS" (or "slantnose RS" in English).
Apparently, this car was created in response to requests from the customer who ordered it, who wanted "more performance, a slant nose look, and a rear wing like the 911 GT3 R Rennsport."
This one-off model was created over approximately three years by experts from Porsche's Sonderwunsch division, as well as Style Porsche, development engineers in Weissach, Porsche Motorsport, and Manthey.
Incidentally, it is legal to drive on public roads.
So... that's one of the mysteries surrounding 2025 solved!

The slant-nose Porsche 911 may be making a comeback
As of May 2025, it was discovered that Porsche had registered two trademarks, "Porsche Flachbau" and "Flachbau RS," leading to speculation that "Could this mean the slant nose is making a comeback??"
However, the trademark registration at that time was specifically for this one-off model.
Porsche also announced that the reason for registering the trademark for 2025 was for this car.
I see, so it was all for this car!
The mystery of 2025 has been solved, and I feel relieved ^^
And there's one more thing that's been bothering me.
As some of you may not remember (or maybe you do? lol), Porsche announced that it would release four special edition cars based on its heritage design, and three of them have already been announced.

When the third 911 Spirit 70 was unveiled, Porsche clearly stated:The 911 Spirit 70 is the third with the fourth and final Heritage Design strategy model yet to be announced (The 911 Spirit '70 is the third special edition based on the Heritage Design Strategy, and the final (fourth) model has not yet been announced.)
That's why, when the term "slant nose" was trademarked in 2025, I thought it might be the fourth special edition Heritage Design car.
Considering the 1-3 heritage designs already announced, the time periods seem to match—they've been from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s—so the fourth one might be a Porsche from the 1980s.
But!
When this one-off model was unveiled, Porsche did not include any mention of it being the fourth special edition car based on their Heritage Design Strategy.
In other words, this particular model was truly just a one-off model created purely in response to a customer's request...
Um... perhaps, Porsche, you got so caught up in announcing the details of this meticulously crafted new Flachbau RS that you forgot to mention that it's the fourth special edition car based on your Heritage Design Strategy?
Oh, that can't be true?
