Although it's the same 718 Cayman GT4RS, the roll cage has a different shape and color.
Recently, we reported that the 718 Cayman GT4 RS was delivered at PEC Tokyo.
That's what I realized then.

Even though it was a weekday, four incredibly impressive cars (four people) had gathered, two with GT4 RSs and two with Spider RSs (thank you ^^), so after the delivery, we were able to compare everyone's cars with the one that had just arrived at our house.
In particular, since the GT4RS is the same color as our GT4RS, it was easy to compare various options, so I had a good look at each one.
On the left is Yamada-san's GT4 RS (said to be produced in June 2024), and on the right is my GT4 RS (produced in August 2024) ↓

When I opened the back to see the rear, I compared it...

This is our GT4RS↓

And this is Yamada's GT4RS. Can you see the difference? ↓

Yes, it may be hard to tell at a glance from a diagonal angle in a photo.
Please note that both cars have the Weissach Package (without roll cage) + Club Sport Package, which includes a roll cage. In other words, the roll cages are exactly the same.
*It may be confusing, but there are two options: the Weissach Package (without roll cage) and the Weissach Package. If you choose the regular Weissach Package, the roll cage will be made of titanium.
And if you just get the "Weissach Package (without roll cage)", it's the Weissach Package, but it doesn't come with a roll cage...but if you add the "Club Sport Package" to it, you'll be able to add a steel roll cage.
So, take a look. Here is a photo taken from directly in front of the back. This should be pretty clear.
This is the one in my house. The color of the roll cage is grayish-grey (like PVC pipes) and the two rods on both ends are angled so that they are almost invisible under the body.

And this is Yamada's GT4RS. Look, the shape is completely different, right? The color is not PVC pipe, it actually looks better.

Probably different model year (MY24 → MY25)
Just to reiterate, Yamada-san's car will be manufactured in June 2024. Ours will be manufactured in August.
In the case of Porsche, the model year change usually occurs in August (in fact, the model year of my car is 2025), so I thought the difference in this roll cage was probably due to the change in model year.
When Porsche first officially announced the roll cage, it was the same as Yamada's, as shown here:

"I see, so it became PVC pipe because the model year is 2025," I thought to myself, and was initially convinced (it's just an analogy between the color and appearance, it's not actually PVC pipe, just to be clear (lol)), but then I suddenly became curious, so I checked the current configurator (as of February 17, 2025) to be sure.
The description of the Club Sport package in the configurator reads:

picture??
Whaaaaaaaat.
"Black bolt-in roll cage at the rear"?!
Wait, will the roll cage for the GT4 RS Club Sport Package be black when ordered from now on? What's that? Sounds nice.
If you choose the Weissach package, the roll cage will remain made of titanium, as before. If you choose the Weissach package (without roll cage) + Club Sport package, it will be black.
Is the regular roll cage being black a color change in anticipation of MY26 (production from August 2025)?
For now, even after searching online, I have not yet been able to find anyone who has posted photos of a roll cage for the MY25 GT4 RS, so I wanted to check what other people's MY25 roll cages look like, but I have not been able to do so yet.
What if mine is the only one with PVC pipes? (lol)
If I ever come across a MY25 GT4RS, I'd like to see the roll cage, and also the roll cage for the one that will be delivered in the future (MY26?).
Although it is a small difference, I discovered that it is the difference in the roll cage, so I decided to write about it. If you have a GT4 RS, please check the shape of your own roll cage.
