Experience Porsche 911 Turbo at Porsche Experience Center Tokyo (PEC Tokyo)

Posted: May 18, 2023 Updated:

3rd PEC Tokyo Driving Program Experience

Porsche Experience Center Tokyo in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture.

I have experienced the driving program twice in the past (first time: rear engine vs. midship riding, second time Porsche 911 GT3), but this time I experienced the third PEC Tokyo driving program, so I will talk about that time. I would like to write

In the third PEC experience, I was supposed to experience the Porsche 911 Turbo and my husband the Porsche 911 GT3.

I was so excited that I went to bed the night before, but I was woken up by an earthquake early warning at 4:00 am on the day of the PEC Tokyo experience.

No, no, I'm glad there weren't any big damage reports, but the epicenter was a big earthquake in Kisarazu at dawn on the day I was going to PEC Tokyo.

In any case, it seems that there was no major damage to everyone in Kisarazu City and its suburbs, including PEC Tokyo. The Aqua Line was also operated normally without being closed, so it was saved.

That's why I arrived at PEC Tokyo.

Porsche 911 Turbo Experience

On this day, as mentioned above, my husband is a GT3, and I am a four-wheel drive Porsche 911 turbo experience for the first time in my life!

GT3 was already experienced last timeSo, regarding the turbo this time, several people said, "I bought a turbo (or turbo S), but it was too fast and too excessive for everyday use, so I let it go." I wanted to experience it.

That's why Turbo-chan! I'm so excited. The color of the strap I received this time is also beautiful.

The instructor this time was a person who participated in the S-Tai, and he taught me one by one very carefully.

PEC Tokyo's driving program does not allow videos or photos, so I would like to proceed while inserting photos taken separately on this day, photos of lunch, etc. ^ ^

The turbo car that I took this time is this red car ↓

There were some things that I thought were a little different from the management up until now.

First of all, "the instructor will always demonstrate all modules".

I thought, "I already understand each module," but even so, I was able to rediscover many things by demonstrating each module at the beginning again, so this was helpful.

Of course, if you have already experienced PEC Tokyo many times and do not need an explanation, it may be possible to omit it.

On this day, the first thing I thought when I experienced the Porsche 911 Turbo for the first time was "Acceleration, fast!"

Last time I experienced GT3, I felt that the turbo was much faster if it was about the course and speed range of PEC Tokyo.

According to the instructor, 4WD has a higher limit, but it is difficult to recover when the limit is exceeded. RR has a lower limit value than 4WD, but it is easy to recover when it slips. I see.

However, I also thought that it would be impossible to slide the car unintentionally with this 4WD turbo ^ ^

…But the reality is that I couldn't go that far at PEC Tokyo because I thought it would be bad if something happened (laughs).

As an impression that I got on the turbo for the first time, anyway, if it is okay to write boldly that "the performance of this car is amazing", "If the base model Carrera and the turbo are the same price, the turbo (laughs)

However, there is actually a considerable difference in the price of the vehicle itself, so considering that, I don't mainly use the circuit, so I can't use the performance of this turbo on general roads. Then I came to the conclusion that the base model was more than enough for me.

Or rather, considering the price difference, isn't the base Carrera unusually good in performance? As much as I thought ^^

In my case, I was really satisfied with the basic Carrera as long as it was running on public roads, and I thought it would be better to focus on being able to handle the base model first.

In fact, I was able to experience the turbo at full throttle, launch control, slalom, etc., and I was convinced that "the turbo is amazing, but the base model is more than enough for me who doesn't mainly drive on the circuit". I think it was a very big harvest for me this time.

Thanks to PEC Tokyo, I was able to separate the GT3 as a GT3 even though it only runs on general roads because it moves at all and the sound is different.

On the PEC Tokyo course, I thought that the turbo could run faster than the GT3, but I still feel that the GT3 was overwhelmingly more confident in cornering.

Ah, anyway, I clearly understood that "Base model Carrera" is the best for me, and if I can have it, "GT3" is the model I want.

I think it's a wonderful thing about PEC Tokyo that you can have such an experience that you can compare and convince yourself.

What I really enjoyed about this PEC Tokyo experience was all the modules (laughs).

I learned a lot about launching, or braking from full throttle (making it possible to stop at the final cone with a constant pedaling force), and the kick plate was really fun and I did it many times.

When the speed entering the kick plate was 41km and 37km, the scenery we saw was completely different. I was able to see and control it so slowly that I could see my surroundings... I also realized that a difference of a few kilometers makes a big difference in whether or not I can deal with something when something happens.

By the way, I have learned the ability to avoid slipping in various driving programs, so I can control the kick plate almost perfectly no matter how many times I try. I was able to say "I'm an instructor level" from

I think this is really the result of the driving lessons I've had so far, and I'm very happy that I'm glad I did it.

in the drift circleLast time I was able to do about 2 laps in GT3So, I wanted to do at least one lap again this time, but unfortunately, I was only five meters short of the finish. I'm sorry. It's really frustrating (laughs)!

I was told that drifting with a 4WD is more difficult than with a 2WD, so this was actually my first time drifting with a 4WD, but it was completely different.

In the case of 4WD, it was more surprising than when I was drifting with my base model Carrera, "I can step on it more and more", and "Is it okay to step on this much?"

If you do it as usual, the accelerator ON after creating an opportunity to slip is too weak.

But I can't help but remember the drift experience with the base Carrera, so I control it with the base Carrera's accelerator control. Are you sure?", but if you step on it more, the drift will continue.

I was impressed by the difference in control between the basic Carrera and the 4WD Carrera.

Still, in the end, it didn't go well because the accelerator ON was too weak and the steering was turned in too much in the basic Carrera mode, and I could only drift up to about 1 lap of the drift circle -5 meters at the maximum.

Still, I was able to do that with my first 4WD Porsche, so I'm satisfied that I could do it well ^ ^

Next time, I want to surprise the instructor by drifting around and saying, "Well then, let's go!"

Oh yeah, and this time my husband usually runs on the circuit, so this time he was not only riding together but also "leading" in the GT3 run.

The instructor rides another Porsche and runs in the lead run while instructing the GT3 on which her husband rides on the radio.

Now, although not all of them, it seems that people who have been OK by the instructor and when the situation is not too crowded can also lead such a run.

At PEC Tokyo, I think that the instructor basically says "praise", but even so, at the end of this time, I asked the instructor

"(Except when a professional GT driver came as a customer) It's the first time I've been in charge of someone who is so good at driving, not flattering."

And, I'm really happy that I got the biggest compliment for me, I'm happy, I'm happy, and with just these words, it seems that I will be able to enjoy Porsche for about two years (simple (lol) ).

Anyway, I think that it's a job for 500% to receive various compliments like this, but I'm still smiling and happy ^^

This time again, I had a very enjoyable Porsche experience, and it was a fruitful day with various stories and advice that would definitely make a difference in future driving.

By the way, in places with low mu, let's get as close to the cone as the clipping point, so we actually stopped the car once next to the cone and said "this is about" = less than 30 cm distance between the car and the cone. I was able to see it and drove, but when I tried it in my mind, "I'm about 30cm closer," I hit the cone a little at the rear.

This is because I didn't realize that the rear of the turbo car is wide, and I approached the cone with the usual feeling of the base model Carrera, so I touched the cone.

I also learned that even a slight difference in body width can have such an effect, and that also led to my conviction that the base model, which is not the turbo body, would be better ^ ^

No, it was really fun!

It's a very exciting 90 minutes, and each time I'm so excited that I'm sweating. Conversation with the instructor is fun, and it's a very rich time because there are many things to learn.

Thank you for another wonderful 90 minutes!

Going back to the food photos for a moment, I chose Baumkuchen for the dessert of the day, but when I went with my husband, Baumkuchen was a choice of "either chocolate or berry".

But this is the only one, so I thought it would be nice if each person could choose the one they liked (both were delicious, so the result was OK...).

Also, when I was looking at the scenery while eating, I noticed a "PORSCHE" sign similar to the HOLLYWOOD sign here in Hollywood.

This wasn't there before, was it? As far as I know, it was installed between March and April 2023.

And I think this sign is very nice. Definitely better!

Lastly, I would like to talk about PEC Tokyo on this day.Porsche bear I also haveIt was surreal to see him quietly riding a Porsche (laughs).

What is this subtle scenery (laughs). cute though ^^

Furthermore, until now, Civa-kun, who had been on display in Porsche, was quietly displayed in the Porsche shop this time.

Were you demoted for doing something wrong? (laughs)

PEC Tokyo Yoshino cherry tree growth record

Finally, the growth record of the someiyoshino that has been confirmed every time.

great. The last time I saw it, there were no leaves yet.But this time the leaves are quite out!

I am happy to see the growth. I hope it will grow well and show us beautiful cherry blossoms in a few years ^^

On the way back from PEC Tokyo, we refueled at Costco Kisarazu. I'm sure even high octane was under 160 yen / L. cheap!

I had a very enjoyable Porsche experience again this time.

PEC Tokyo is a place where you can fully experience models that are usually difficult to test drive, and I think it is a very valuable place.

In addition, not only can you ride, but one-on-one instructors will accompany you, so it is wonderful to be able to receive advice according to each level. I think it would be good if many people could experience it.

Thank you again for the wonderful experience!

I would like to go again for the fourth time ^ ^
