Morning mission to gather in Porsche at Porsche Experience Center Tokyo starts
On the morning of Sunday, January 15, 2023, I was running from Tokyo to Chiba Prefecture toward the Aqualine.
As you run from the Metropolitan Expressway towards this Aqua Line, you can see the appearance of Porsche here and there.
I run while thinking, "That air cooling and my destination are the same."
I found out later, but this red Porsche ↑ was the car of an acquaintance, but I didn't know that at all and was following from behind ^ ^
Here is where I ran while meeting several other air-cooled Porsches and water-cooled Porsches.
This is the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture.
On this day, an event called "Morning Mission" was held, so there were flags with the logo of this Morning Mission already at the entrance.
What is Porsche Morning Mission
First of all, what is the new Porsche "Morning Mission" that started in 2023? Let's do it."
It seems that it is held under the name of "Morning Shift" at the Porsche Experience Center in the United States, so I think it will be positioned as the Japanese version of this ^ ^
Since the theme this time was "air cooling", basically most of them are air cooling models. It is said that 100 Porsches gathered at this place.
Among many such air cooling people, I participated in Porsche 911 Cabriolet (992.1) this time.
Huh, was the 992 cabriolet air-cooled? Some people may think that (I don't think so (laughs)), but that's right. Non-theme models are not prohibited.
Therefore, entry to this event is possible for any Porsche model, as written in the application conditions, "All Porsche models can be entered regardless of model or year".
For that reason, the air-cooled model was the main one this time, but there were also several water-cooled models.
Morning mission is held on the 3rd Sunday of every month
It was the first time that the Morning Mission had just started, so everyone might have wanted to go and applied all at once, but this Morning Mission event is scheduled to be held every month from now on ( 3rd Sunday of each month).
So, from now on, everyone (including me) will gradually get used to it, and they will be able to participate and not participate more easily, like "I wonder if I should go this month" or "I won't go next month." I think.
But at times like that, when there is a monthly theme that has been decided, it becomes an opportunity to think about going further, like, "Oh, is this air-cooled? It will be a reunion with us and a new encounter, so I think it will be a fun day with an increased sense of intimacy.
For example, in the morning shift in the United States, "This month's theme is champions"When it becomes, it's not that people who have won the race gather, but the Porsche Experience Center has past winning cars and trophies on display, so that's how the theme should be. It seems that there is also.
In fact, this time, I was able to participate because I was lucky enough to be elected with a 992 cabriolet, even though the theme was "air cooling", and this was a very good experience.
This is because, of course, air-cooled model owners can have common conversations and sympathize with each other, and it's fun. Because it has become a place where you can learn about us.
Or, of course, there are people who have both air-cooled and water-cooled models, so I can ask them about both models, and conversely, many people have taken pictures of my cabriolet. I saw it, so I wonder if air-cooled owners may be interested in models that they do not have in water cooling or new Porsche models.
Anyway, the reason we gather is "let's have fun chatting with coffee in one hand", so I felt that it would be nice if we could enjoy the theme of the month as the center of the topic ^ ^
For the time being, I think that if there are many entries when applying to participate, it will be a lottery as to whether or not you can participate like this time, but I'm sure it will settle down in a few months.
I was restless (laughs).
Porsche morning mission flow
So, briefly about the flow of this morning mission gathering.
First of all, when you arrive at PEC Tokyo, the name of the participant will be confirmed when entering the parking lot (because advance application / winning is mandatory).
After that, park your car according to the guidance of the person in charge. This time my car was guided to a charging space, so I was a little excited about the charging space where I parked for the first time (laughs).
Because it's not usually charging, so it's a place where you can't stop!
A surreal picture of everyone parked in the charging space sandwiched between air cooling. Even so, 992 is big.
Next, reception at the facility part of PEC Tokyo.
At this place, the participants will sign the paper, and then they will receive coffee and original stickers.
Oh yeah, I put this tag I got at the entrance on the rearview mirror of my car.
It seems that the Morning Mission logo, which is also used for parking tags, will continue to be used in the future, and T-shirts and caps with this logo were also sold.
Certainly, if you buy it, you can wear it when you participate in the morning mission in the future ^ ^
And here is the wristband you can get at the reception.
You will wear this wristband during the time spent in PEC Tokyo.
After that, it was said that "there is a lottery", but the lottery method was coffee.
Sorry for being a little out of focus, but you have the Morning Mission logo sticker on your coffee cup, right? ↓
This sticker was actually affixed to the bottom of the coffee cup, and when it was removed, it was supposed to be written on the person who hit it.
When I received the coffee, this sticker was stuck on my cup, so when I was overjoyed thinking, "Oh, did I win?", the chef of restaurant 906 said, "No, the sticker I was so embarrassed when I was told that everyone had it posted (laughs).
But I'm sure there must have been a lot of people who thought "Did I hit it?" the moment they saw the sticker ^^! !
I was a loser, but the prizes that you can get if you win the lottery (probably because I didn't hear it properly) were the Taikan simulation lap and the simulator experience?
After completing the reception and receiving coffee, basically "Please spend freely".
For the time being, there was a greeting from Porsche Japan at the beginning, but it seems that there is no such greeting at the American event, just everyone gathers and just chats with coffee in one hand.
No, if I write "just chatting", it may sound like "that's all?", but it's fun to chat ^^
I was also able to spend time talking and having fun with all of my acquaintances who I was able to meet again on this occasion...
I was able to spend a very meaningful and enjoyable time, as I was able to meet and talk with new people and people I met through SNS for the first time.
Oh yeah,Women-only event held at PEC Tokyo the other dayCoincidentally (no, probably inevitable (lol)) I met a female participant who was with me at this place again.
I was so happy and excited ^^
There were so many people I wanted to talk to and so many cars I wanted to see, it was really fun in a few hours~^^
Even so, after returning home, there were many people who couldn't meet me at this place, saying, "Oh, was that person there?!" I thought it was nothing.
On this day, I also heard stories about various air-cooled models from many people, but I have almost no knowledge about air-cooled Porsche. I was just amazed.
At the end of the day, I heard various interesting stories from the Porsche owner here ↓ and the sales manager of Porsche Classic at Porsche Center Setagaya, and I was stimulated by various things morning mission.
Can I say something amateur here again?
When I was shown the engine of this car (with the engine running), when I pressed the stick around the yellow arrow It sounded like someone was pushing the accelerator in the driver's seat. *I didn't push the stick!
When I asked, "What did you do just now??" ,Is that so? ? I got it.
I don't know if I can call it simple, but it goes without saying that the accelerator pedal and the accelerator wire are directly connected, and there is no electronic signal between them.
It may be just that, but I was deeply moved by the fact that I was like, "If you press that, it's the accelerator?!"
In addition, there was history and memories in the story of the encounter between the car and the current owner, which is unique to the historic air-cooled Porsche, and it was just too wonderful.
It was really fun to have a conversation with everyone who had a common point of "I like Porsche", and on this day, "I like air-cooled Porsche".
Everyone, the expression when you tell me various things about air-cooled Porsche is sparkling, and it's a fun time anyway even when talking about something unrelated ^ ^
Overview of the 2nd morning mission
Next time, the 2nd Morning Mission @ PEC Tokyo will be "Sunday, February 19, 2023] will be held. The second theme is "midship』.
The event will be held from 8:15 am to 11:00 am. Applications start January 22nd. application isHomepage of PEC TokyoThan.
Advance entry (lottery if there are many applications) is required.
Also, as mentioned above, the next theme is midship, but all Porsche models can be entered regardless of model or year.
Hmm, the next theme is midship?
Then the other day718 Boxster GTS has just joined the first midshipI think I'll try entering again next time ^ ^
PEC Tokyo has become a facility that feels very familiar to me every time I go.
And on the way home, I stop by Costco Kisarazu, which has become a staple in my mind, to refuel and shop ^^
The high-octane price on this day is 159 yen/L, which is impossible in Tokyo!
I don't know if it will be next month or when the next one will be, but I am looking forward to talking with many people here when I participate in Morning Mission again someday.
From now on, everyone should check the schedule for the 3rd Sunday of every month, and why not have a free coffee in front of the wonderful Porsches at PEC Tokyo (laughs) and have a chat ^ ^
