All Porsche 718 models can now be ordered with a 7-speed PDK

As of June 2020, "From the 2021 model, PDK option will be added to 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and 718 Cayman GTS 4.0However, it seems that the press release issued on September 8, 2020 will be the official announcement from Porsche.
With this announcement, in addition to the manual transmission, the following 718 models can officially order the 7-speed PDK:
- 718 Boxster GTS 4.0
- 718 Cayman GTS 4.0
- 718 spider
- 718 Cayman GT4
By using PDK instead of manual, it is possible to run smoothly without interruption of acceleration during gear change, so the comfort of gear shift is improved, and the acceleration value is also improved accordingly.
The 420-horsepower PDK 718 Spider and 718 Cayman GT4 accelerate from 0 to 100km to "3.9 seconds", which is 0.5 seconds faster than the MT. In addition, it was achieved in "13.4 seconds", which was 0.4 seconds faster up to 200km.
In the 400 horsepower PDK 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and 718 Cayman GTS 4.0, 0-100 km is also 0.5 seconds faster than MT, "4.0 seconds", and 0-200 km is 0.4 seconds faster. It is "13.7 seconds".
In the 718 GTS 4.0 model, the gear shift characteristics of the PDK have been changed in four modes in the standard sports chrono package.
The four modes are as follows:
- Normal mode
- Sport mode
- Sport plus mode
- Individual mode
In sport mode, gear changes are faster, auto-blipping allows for earlier downshifts, and by doing so, optimal acceleration is supported at subsequent shift points.
In addition, the Sport Plus mode is tuned to maximize the rpm reserve of the horizontally opposed 6-cylinder NA engine for maximum performance.
By the way, even when launching and controlling, it will be activated in this sports plus mode.

Porsche Sport Response Button (PSRB):
With a small button in the center of the mode switch, just press it and Porsche's drivetrain will achieve maximum acceleration for 20 seconds. The turbocharger overboosts and the PDK gearbox automatically selects the right gear for maximum acceleration.
The flagship 718 Spider and 718 Cayman GT4 model have the characteristics of a GT car anyway, so you can program it to maximize performance by using the PDK sports button.
Since the automatic selector lever reflects the design of Porsche 911 GT3, it is said that you can experience a GT car ^ ^
The 7-speed PDK is said to have a shorter ratio in all 4-liter NA engines.
(★ Addendum 13:40 ★ This means that the 718 GTS 4.0 and 718 Spider, 718 Cayman GT4 have a shorter gear ratio in the "7th gear" compared to the normal 718 model → Normal 0.71) against 0.62 of 718PDK
After that, PDK's 718 Spider and 718 Cayman GT4 are said to be benefiting from the enhancements made to the mechanical differential lock, and the lock value is 30 and 37% in traction & overrun mode. Other features of the 2021 718 series
Another change from the 2021 model is that the interior has no Alcantara and is replaced by Race-Tex material.

Also, Python Green was added to the body color (718 GT model and 718 Spider & 718 Cayman GT4).
Gold 20-inch wheels are also available for the 718 Spider (which was previously only available on the 718 Cayman GT4).

For the time being, Porsche officially announced, so it is now possible to order PDK for all 718 model series ^ ^
