Opportunity to practice skid control about 4 times a year
As I have written about several times in the past, I started practicing in a steady circle because I wanted to be able to drift in my beloved Porsche 911 and to be able to properly control my car.
Currently, I participate as much as possible in Porsche Club Utsunomiya's regular circle practice event, which is held four times a year.
On this day, I once again participated in the regular circle practice at the Tsukuba Circuit Gymkhana field, which will be the first in 2024.
Even if I were to participate in all of them, I only get a chance to practice four times a year, so this is a valuable one.
Up until now, it has often been sunny during steady circle practice, and it has only rained heavily once (out of all the times I have participated).
Fortunately, on this practice day, the weather was rainy for the second time, making the conditions perfect for practicing steady circles.
Purchase a cordless high pressure washer for car washing
During the previous training session, we washed the car by hand every time we finished running a three-minute steady circle to prevent the well water (sprinkled) from settling on the car ( I probably washed my car over 20 times in one day (lol?), but it was already so hard that I actually got a new weapon for this practice.
This is a cordless high pressure washer that can be used from a bucket of water.
Last time I washed my car too many times, my arms were already sore (I woke up the next morning with sore arms (lol)), and right after that, as it was the end of the year, I searched for it through my hometown tax payment and found it. I bought this Iris Ohyama high pressure washer (or rather, I received it as a return gift, I guess).
This day was supposed to be the debut of this high-pressure washer, but thanks to the natural rain that soaked the ground, there was no well water to be sprinkled, and a water sprinkler truck was also scheduled to make its debut. The high pressure washer that was supposed to be installed never showed up.
I think I'll try the high pressure washer next time.
I would be happy if I could easily flush well water with this and be free from the ion deposit problem. People are already starting to realize that I'm a pervert who washes my car every time I drive, so somehow it's become less scary. Hehehe.
Check for brake oil leakage on the black Carrera
Oh yeah, one more thing.
I am enjoying the steady circle with my favorite black Carrera (991.2 base model Carrera), but the right front brake of this black Carrera just broke at the end of the year.
At that time, the dealer told me, ``We have applied a white developer to the brake pipe connection, so please check periodically to see if brake oil is leaking into this white liquid.'' However, they made it possible for me to check to see if brake oil was leaking out. (The details at that time areHere)
On this day as well, I checked the developer in advance to make sure there were no leaks. Yeah, OK. Are you okay.
After greeting everyone in the morning, we immediately started driving practice at 9am.
On this day, my first start time, which was my first run, was 9:11. I like it. I love this kind of thing. The best. This alone got me excited in the car alone.
Towards the end of the previous practice, I learned that up until now I was only able to start drifting with 1st gear fixed, but I was now able to start drifting with 2nd gear fixed, so my goal this time was to do that. Be able to start drifting with 2nd gear fixed and be able to control it as it is.
So, on this day, I only practiced in 2nd gear from the beginning.
I was able to do it a little last time, so I thought I'd be able to do it this time as well, but when I tried it for the first time in a while, I was like, ``Huh?''
After all, several months pass between each practice, so at first it seems like you remember, but you don't, and you can't remember what you understood last time...Reflection.
In the end, at the beginning of the morning, I was confused, thinking things like, ``What am I supposed to do?'', ``Hmm, why can't I do it?'', ``Do I really need power?'', and as usual, I drove aggressively.
It would be impossible for someone to think that there was a major accident and stop recording while practicing steady circles (lol). Driving that relied on power.
Even though I know in my head that it won't work, I end up relying on power. I can't do it, so I become more and more forceful.
As I wrote before, I can't seem to breathe properly when I'm doing a drift turn even though I can control it well in a steady circle (I have too many problems), so I wonder if that's why? The memory of what you learned during the steady cycle fades.
It seems like I remember it, but I can't remember it until the next time.
That's why every time I learn something or understand something, I write it down on my smartphone.
I remembered that again this time and thought, ``Oh, what was the memo I wrote last time?'' What was written there was
``Push the pedal hard from low speed, and when the rear feels itchy, turn the steering wheel back to the right (if it was turning counterclockwise). Then you can start sliding.''
A memo that only I can understand (lol). But after all, it was a message from my past self to my current self, so when I saw this, I remembered and understood, ``Ah, that's right.''
From there, I received a message from my past self and began to regain the feeling of drifting a Porsche 911 in second gear.
Gradually, I was able to do about one lap, and after that I was able to gradually increase the distance when I was able.
Whenever I hear someone taking a video of me while I'm running, I'm too mentally weak to be able to drift at all, but this day too, anticipating my situation, I said, "I won't take a video." There was someone who secretly took pictures of me, so I was able to record the results in this video (lol).

As for my personal achievements, it was a day when I was able to advance further than ever in drift driving (skid control) with fixed 2nd gear, so I feel that it was very fruitful and that I was able to get to know the Black Carrera even more. It was day.
At this regular circle event, I was a slow learner from the beginning, but the chairman of Porsche Club Utsunomiya, who carefully advised and taught me according to my level at the time, also said, ``Now I can do it.'' I was very happy to receive a compliment like "~" ^^
He said, "You were able to complete 4-5 laps, right??", but I couldn't keep track of the number of laps myself (lol), so I wondered if there was ever a time when I could actually complete that many laps. I'd be happy if that's the case.
I'm just grateful for being able to teach me this and have the opportunity to practice.

Porsche girls also come to visit
While I was practicing steady circular drifts, two Porsches suddenly appeared around noon.

During the Porsche girls' party, she was supposed to come to watch the regular circle practice that day, and she actually came. happy.
For me, I only have the chance to practice this steady circle four times a year, and I do it about 20 times each time. Since it's a 3 minute practice session, I don't want to miss even a single chance to practice, so I rarely get out of the car from the time the run starts in the morning until it ends in the evening. (Excluding car wash and restroom while waiting).
Even for lunch, I eat rice balls while waiting in the car.
But on this day, a total of three Porsche girls came to see us, and you could see them having fun chatting in this room. Cool.
In the end, I ended up taking a snack break just once because I received some delicious-looking strawberry daifuku and Hawaiian shortbread as gifts that day.
However, I wasn't able to take the time to talk to everyone, but thankfully two Porsche girls came along to ride with me (in the passenger seat) during my suspicious drifting, so I used that time to It was a lot of fun to be able to chat with them.
What's interesting is that when I was able to drift a few laps, I wasn't taking a breather, and when I was done, I ended up saying, "Haha," and the Porsche girl sitting next to me said, "Maybe I wasn't breathing either. !” and burst out laughing (lol).
If the person in the passenger seat is also unable to breathe, I think that means that I am not able to drift in a way that gives them a sense of security, so in the future I will have more room to allow the person in the passenger seat to ride with peace of mind. I would like to be able to perform stable skid control with this ^^
On this day, there were a total of 5 Porsche girls including visitors and participants, and those who came to see the tour were also full of enthusiasm, saying, ``I want to try it myself!!''
As expected of Porsche girls, they are the best.
It's reassuring, I'm happy, and it's fun to have female friends who can share the joy of controlling a Porsche like this.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that I am having a luxurious play.
And I'm really happy to be able to meet people who enjoy Porsche like this, both women and men.
I would like to continue to have fun and get to know Kuro Carrera even more.
After completing all the driving, I re-checked the right front brake oil for leakage before returning home.
...However, since the rain was splashing up in a steady circle, the developer I applied was as follows. It's gone, I don't know anything about it (lol).
Will things go back to normal once the rain (moisture) dries up? I had high hopes for this, so I took a look at it the next day after it had dried, and here is the brake pipe section after it had dried.
Hmm, most of the white developer was removed after all. disappointing. I hope to find another opportunity to use it again.
This day was another day when I was able to take a step forward.
The time you can enjoy with Porsche like this is truly the best. You have made my life many times, tens of times, hundreds of times, thousands of times, tens of thousands of times more enjoyable.
