Porsche 934 art piece sells for more than the real Porsche

A Porsche Art that's more expensive than a moving Porsche

Recently, a Porsche 934 was sold in the UK for 201,000 pounds (approximately 38.38 million yen), even though it was not a real working Porsche.

That is this car(?)! ↓

This is a work by London artist Benedict Radcliffe and was first unveiled at Milan Design Week in 2022.

It was subsequently exhibited in Beijing and Shanghai, and also appeared at the official Porsche China exhibition.

This Porsche 934 is a work of art that captures the shape and contours of racing cars built in accordance with FIA Group 4 regulations in the 1970s.

Apparently only 31 Porsche 934s were ever made, and this artwork commemorates chassis number 0167, which was an orange Jägermeister spec car, which is why this artwork is also orange.

The piece is made from 32mm mild steel tubing, powder coated in a glossy fluorescent orange, and is 1:1 scale to the actual race car.

In other words, it's the same size as the real thing. That's amazing.

Just like the real car, it also comes with original BBS split-rim wheels fitted with Avon tyres.

Everything was measured, shaped and welded by hand.

This piece was sold for a higher price than the Porsche that can actually be driven, and since it's the same scale as the real car, it will probably be difficult to store, but I would be happy if the buyer were to display it somewhere someday.

*Of course, there are many real Porsches that are more expensive than this one.
