Encounter with 992 type Porsche 911 GT3 cup car (GENROQ coverage tour)

Posted: April 10, 2022 Updated:

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup that I met during the interview tour of GENROQ

The May issue of GENROQ was released on March 26th. Of course I bought it perfectly.

the other dayWhen I visited GENROQ coverageI also read the article about Ferrari 296 GTB that was tested and interviewed in Spain, which I heard from the editor-in-chief, with great interest ^ ^

Before the release of Genroku, I couldn't write on this blog what kind of car I was shown during the tour, but the car I met at this time is ... here. Ah, that's wonderful in the back ...

Here! !! !!

Oh, you already know it because you saw the title of the blog? That's right ^^

The car I got on that day was this ... 992 type Porsche 911 GT3 cup car!

992 type GT3 cup that Porsche was said to be the best cup car ever

The 992 type GT3 cup that Porsche's product manager said "It's the best Cup car that Porsche has ever built".

Cool!

It was really cool. The presence was amazing.

I also met a 992 type GT3 that is not a cup carThere are times, but the GT3 still had the feeling of being cute, even though it was "cool", "but it's still cute".

However, I was afraid to say that this GT3 cup was "cute" anymore, and it was just cool.

On this day, it was racing driver Tetsuya Tanaka who was interviewed for running this GT3 cup & GENROQ.

Not to mention getting the consent of Mr. Tetsuya and everyone at GENROQ, "Is it okay to get closer to (the car)?" It was such a feeling that I could only get closer while asking, "Is it okay to get closer?"

That presence.

Double wishbone suspension

Then, I would like to show you various things near the GT3 cup that I met.

Immediately, when I first met, the tires had been removed, so I checked this from the front tire area.

Because it was a lot of talk before the GT3 was announced that the double wishbone type front suspension was adopted from the 992 type GT3.

Even though I was so ill-mannered, I didn't have the courage to put my head in the tire house and take a picture when I saw this GT3 cup in front of me (laughs), so it ended up being a picture from the front. I don't know very well.

Before the announcement of the 992 type GT3, the word "double wishbone suspension" had never appeared in my life, so I started learning what it was, and this time. I was able to see the real thing of the double wishbone suspension for the first time ^ ^

This is the rear. The rear one seems to be quite the same as the 991.2 type.

By the way, the tires to be installed were warmed by sending warm air so that they would not get cold. It's amazing!

There are 3 ducts on the front hood.

The hood is made of aluminum instead of carbon. This is because the repair cost can be reduced even if it is damaged due to collision.

Surprisingly, the crest on the front was not a sticker but a decent one. Was it so?

It's a model for racing, so I thought that this crest was a seal for weight reduction like the RS model. But the GT3 cup is different.

When I open the hood, it feels noisy.

The refueling port is located near the top of the front trunk. It seemed a little difficult to refuel from here.

Trunk part ↓ It seems that you can stack things if you want to stack them (laughs).

Inside the 992 type Porsche 911 GT3 cup car

The inside of the car was also amazing.

According to Mr. Tetsuya Tanaka, this 992 type has a larger display, which makes it easier to see, and various information is displayed in an easy-to-understand manner.

But from my point of view, I have no idea what it is.

By the way, the information displayed on this 10.3-inch large display is said to be useful for analysis because it is possible to display it on the PCs of Porsche mechanics at the same time.

At the foot of the driver's seat ↓

I wonder if the duct around the center of the driver's seat and passenger seat is where the wind sent from the hole in the middle of the front hood is taken into the car ↓

The central air intake on the front hood is called cockpit air (air intake for the inside of the car). By the way, it seems that there is no air conditioner.

The red button on this door is an ergonomically designed button called a safety quick release, which is a button for opening a highly safe door in an emergency.

I was happy to be able to see the actual button in front of me, so I just pressed it ^ ^

The door is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, so it is very light.

Before,When I opened and closed the door of Cayman GT4 Club SportsI thought the same way, but when I closed my eyes and opened and closed this door, it was so light that I could think "Is it a toy car?"

Here is the foot of the passenger seat. The release unit with a fire extinguisher is also seen to be new from the 992 type. ↓

RoutineNico-chan on the side of the doorI also checked if there was any.

I was there ... I'm a little scared because of the pattern ^^?

Escape hatch that the roof part complies with the latest FIA standard ↓

And speaking of 992 type, this swan neck rear wing. It's cool ~.

It is said that this rear wing can be adjusted in 11 steps, but I have no idea how to use those 11 steps properly.

When I asked Mr. Tetsuya Tanaka (Some cars have data monitored by sensors etc., and there are things that can be adjusted by analyzing various situations such as mechanics, but there is no such thing in this GT3), It was said that he was driving by himself and was instructed to "let's do this a little more" from the situation and conditions at that time and changed the setting.

When I heard that, I think that those who become professional racers have a bold image of being attacked more and more because they are fighting in the dynamic world of car racing, but in fact they also have a rather delicate feeling at the same time. I thought it was.

Because, if I were (I can't help comparing it to myself as an amateur (laughs)), even if I set this wing adjustment to the farthest setting and ran each, I think I probably wouldn't know the difference.

It's too amazing to be able to judge the difference due to this 11-step adjustment and change it to the one that is most suitable for the situation at that time.

The rear hood was also open, so I took a peek.

I can see various things.

Where this is moving ↓

By the way, this engine hood is removable.

This is the state when putting on the removed hood again, but first of all, if you align the position of the hood ... There is a place to snap and snap, so stop there and complete.

What impressed me was the structure that the hood storage was made in the swan neck part of the wing when this rear engine hood was removed ^ ^

There was a part that could be inserted (can be placed?) So that the engine hood could be fixed properly. I'm thinking about it ~.

GT3 cup running on the circuit

On this day, Tetsuya Tanaka, who runs this GT3 cup, was also seriously facing the GT3 cup, and various exchanges and adjustments were made with the mechanics.

Tetsuya is a great person who not only participates in the race himself as a professional racer, but also supervises the racing team and, of course, is the opinion number of GENROQ.

And even more, I am participatingPorsche Driving School (PTX)I am also the chief instructor of.

The last time I participated in the PTX MasterWhile doing gymkhanaJust when Tetsuya came to visit the group I was in, I remembered being nervous, "Wow, I can see you running!" (Laughs).

On this day when the GT3 cup was shakedown, I was able to run various things ... make adjustments ... and repeat.

I'm sorry, if I send the image to myself on LINE and then upload it, the image quality is super bad ...

Every time I was run and came back, the mechanics were doing various things.

I don't really know what you're doing, but I've been watching these race cars for a long time because they're really nice to be adjusting, building, and finishing. Will be.

Of course, the appearance of running the GT3 cup that is being made in that way is even cooler, and I was really, really happy to see the 992 type GT3 cup actually running in front of me on this day. bottom.

This is a moment, but the GT3 cup that runs straight through.

It's still amazing even during the shakedown. It's amazing. It's amazing. Goose bumps. It's too cool! !!

I wrote a lot, but I hope you can check the photos of the GT3 cup that are more neat and nice, and the review of the GT3 cup written by Tetsuya Tanaka in the May 2022 issue of GENROQ. Masu ^^

I also knew that the photos taken at this time would be finished in this way and become articles in magazines, and the coolness of the running photos was "Oh, that time, that was taken. This is what the photos are. "

The work of professionals in any world is truly amazing.

It was a wonderful opportunity to see the GENROQ coverage, and above all, not only did you meet the new 992 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, but you could also see the moving appearance of the GT3 Cup running on FSW. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Tetsuya Tanaka.

Thank you for the inspiring experience!

Lastly, I pray for the souls of Mr. Takeshi Ohno, the representative of Max Racing, and I look forward to the success of the team this season and sincerely support them.

Thank you ^^
