2024 Met Gala Official electric vehicle
The fully electric Macan appeared in New York as the official electric vehicle of the 2024 Met Gala.
The fact that it is clearly written as "official electric car" instead of "official car" makes me feel that the Porsche Macan has become a fully electric car.
The EV Macan's job as the official electric vehicle was to transport selected gala guests to and from the event.
Additionally, Porsche is collaborating with Vogue to produce a branded content series titled “True Essence,” which will be published on Vogue’s social media channels as well as Porsche’s.
Porsche also announced that it would be making a donation to The Costume Institute (the main purpose of the Met Gala is to raise funds for the Costume Institute). The amount is unknown.
Many of you may have seen these photos posted on Porsche's social media accounts.
To celebrate the Met Gala, Porsches are enjoying fashion amidst blooming flowers.
And here's a photo of the parade held in New York on May 6, 2024.
Not only the EV Macan, but various other cool Porsches paraded through the streets of New York City.
There are lots of wonderful Porsches on display, including the Viola Purple Metallic 911 Dakar (MY24), the GT3 RS (MY23), and the 911 Speedster (MY19).
Other models included a 918 Spyder (MY15) and a lilac-colored 911 Safari (1978).
Several of the Porsches in the parade were from the Porsche collection of the Ingram family of North Carolina.
The Ingram family owns around 80 Porsches.
The clothing was also coordinated with racing suits that had purple accents.
What was particularly striking about this parade was that it was dominated by the color purple.
I have the impression that Porsche has been promoting purple lately...
