The Guards Red 918 Spyder Weissach package costs $3.2 million (approximately 500 million yen).
A 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, said to be one of only four with the Guards Red and Weissach package sold in North America, was put up for auction and sold to a California dealer for $3,205,000 (approximately 500 million yen).

The car has about 2,000 miles on it (about 3,200 km) and was originally priced at $971,915 (about 150 million yen).
*The manufacturer's suggested retail price was $929,000, but the original owner added a $10,500 front lift, $6,000 electric comfort heating, $7,000 piping, and $13,315 worth of custom tailoring options.

The 918 Spyder that was sold this time is equipped with a Porsche Active Aerodynamics system, a backup camera, a passenger-side charging port, LED headlights, 20/21-inch staggered diameter satin platinum-finish magnesium wheels, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (with acid green painted calipers).

The interior includes carbon fiber seats trimmed in black leather, a Burmester sound system, Guards Red headrest embroidery, car navigation, and dual-zone climate control.

It also has a plate bearing the chassis number 221, indicating that it is one of only 300 produced for the US market.
The 918 Spyder combines a mid-mounted 4.6-liter V8 engine with two electric motors, producing a total system output of 887 hp and a maximum torque of 1,280 Nm.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.5 seconds and the top speed is 345 km/h.

The winning bid at this auction was approximately $3.2 million, but according to foreign media, it could rise to around $4.5 million (approximately 700 million yen) around 2027 or 2028.
It goes up that much...?!

Well, thinking back, I remembered that I once had a conversation with someone who asked me, "I have a 918 Spyder, do you want to buy it?"
Of course, it was already quite expensive at the time (but it wasn't 100 million yen for a used car), and we were just joking around, but now it's an amount that makes me want to buy it and think, "Maybe I should have bought it somehow" (lol).

By the way, the price has become very high (and is said to continue to rise), but on the other hand, the performance of the 918 Spyder is on par with current supercars, and it is said that in theory, even the latest 2026 911 Turbo S will be able to catch up with the 918 Spyder (perhaps referring to the 0-100 km time?).
However, technically, the 918 Spyder is still the fastest accelerating Porsche ever made, and it's a limited-edition car that's said to be the epitome of engineering, and it's said to forever be remembered as one of the most iconic cars of all time.
