What is Porsche's European Delivery Program?

Posted: Posted:

Porsche European Delivery Program

Roughly speaking, a program that buys a Porsche in your own country and sends the purchased Porsche to your own country after "going to a factory in Germany by yourself, running around Germany and Europe with your car"Porsche European Delivery Program』.

This is a form of "Porsche delivery" that I really want to try, and my husband and I would like to receive Porsche delivery someday with this European delivery.

This time, an article saying "Porsche's European delivery is like this" was posted, so I would like to post it here as a record for myself ^ ^

* Notes and disclaimers: This article is based on "European Delivery from America"European delivery conditions, etc. when purchasing from the Porsche Center in Japan may not be the same as the description... If you would like to purchase a Porsche using the Porsche European Delivery Program from Japan, please be sure to contact each Porsche Center in advance to confirm.

Free Porsche delivery from Germany to your country

If you buy a Porsche from your own Porsche dealer and want European delivery, the Porsche dealer will take care of all the clerical work and your car at the Leipzig or Zuffenhausen factory in Germany. The shipping fee for picking up and finally sending the car from Europe to your own country is also free.

In addition, Porsche's travel office will help you with planning such as booking trips to Europe.

First, buy a Porsche at a local Porsche dealer

The way to deliver Porsche European is to first go to your local (or your favorite) Porsche dealer, select the Porsche model, color and options you want, and pay, just like when you buy a Porsche normally. We will decide what to do with the method as usual.

After that, if you want European delivery, in addition to such a normal Porsche purchase flow, you will need to fill out some additional documents and a passport to go to Europe (Germany), so prepare.

From the day you ordered Porsche, you will be planning to pick up your car @ Germany at least 12 weeks later (Of course, depending on the model, there may be many things that can not be delivered in 12 weeks ... ).

By the way, please note that pickups from German factories are closed on "Saturdays, Sundays and German holidays".

Discounts on Lufthansa flights to Germany

If you use Porsche's European Delivery Program, you can get a discount on Lufthansa flights (* It is necessary to confirm whether this is also applicable from Japan).

35% discount in First Class or Business Class, and 30% discount in Economy.

However, in most cases, such discounts are applied as "discounts from regular rates", so it may actually be cheaper to make a regular reservation.

In Germany, if you have a Japanese driver's license and its German translation, you can drive for 6 months, so it is OK if you have a German translation of your license, but you should get an international driver's license. If you do, it seems to be more reliable, so if you want European delivery, I think it is better to have an international driver's license (International driver's license acquisition in Japan is 2,350 yen, 1 year You can easily make a valid one).

* The above picture is an example of an American international driver's license.

European delivery comes with free hotel night

The European Delivery Program will come with a free night at the hotel in Stuttgart or Leipzig, depending on the model you pick up.

In Stuttgart:

  • Hotel Graf Zeppelin
  • Althoff Am Schlossgarten Hotels

Either, and in Leipzig:

  • Steigenberger Grandhotel Handelshof
  • Marriott Hotel

You can choose either hotel.

And Porsche pays the taxi fare from the airport to the hotel, and even dispatches the shuttle from the hotel to the factory (car delivery center). Hmmm, I'm completely exhausted (I'm persistent, but I don't know if the conditions are the same from Japan, so check it out).

A private tour of the Porsche Factory and Porsche Museum is also included

All European delivery trips include a Porsche factory where your car was built and a private tour of the Porsche Museum.

At Porsche's state-of-the-art and wonderful facility, you can see the assembly line of how your Porsche was assembled and the people who work there.

If you show me that, you'll be impressed by the fact that "Oh, my car was built here by those people until a while ago."

But if I have a chance to talk to the people on the assembly line, I may be able to directly thank them for making my favorite Porsche, so it will be a moving and happy event again. ..

Truck experience with your car Porsche, off-road driving experience at Cayenne

Furthermore, even more.

When picking up your car Porsche at this factory, it seems that a truck day experience will also come with it. It is said that the Leipzig factory has a road course that can bring out the performance of various Porsche models, and it seems that you can run using it.

Also, if the car to be delivered is Cayenne, it will be an off-road experience.

Porsche also owns a 6km off-road circuit at the Leipzig factory where you can try various terrains and obstacles, so you can try Cayenne's off-road driving there.

* If you don't like using your own car that has just been delivered, you can try it with Porsche's Cayenne (laughs).

Picking up a Porsche at a German factory just comes with a tour of these factories and the Porsche Museum and a little circuit experience (or off-road experience) ... but I'm happy, but it's not the only one. am.

Drive Europe with your car Porsche

Yes, for this European delivery program

  • Car registration
  • Temporary license plate
  • 16 days of insurance for driving in Europe

Comes with.

in short! For 16 days, you can drive around Europe with your Porsche just delivered. This is exactly the main event of European delivery, and the real thrill of it ^^ I want to do this! !!

By the way, if the car is delivered in winter, there may be an additional charge, but Porsche will provide all-season tires for use for up to 2 weeks for the period of driving in Europe.

It also rents out GPS units in Europe and installs maps of Europe in the car navigation system of your car (this may also be charged).

After handing over your car to Porsche in Germany, all you have to do is wait for it to be delivered in your own country

After enjoying a drive all over Europe, all you have to do is return the Porsche to the Leipzig or Zuffenhausen factory. From there, Porsche will deliver the Porsche body to your country. As mentioned above, the delivery fee from Germany to your country is free.

If either Leipzig or Zufenhausen is inconvenient to drop off your car, you can drop off in any of the 15 other cities for a small extra fee. It's convenient because you don't have to come back to Germany.

Once you have handed your car to Porsche, Porsche will take responsibility for all subsequent Porsche delivery. And if you receive the Porsche delivered safely to your home country from the local Porsche dealer who purchased it again, the delivery in your home country will be completed.

After receiving my car from the factory where Porsche in Germany was built, I ran around Europe with that car, and the joy of seeing a goodbye car again in my own country ... I feel that I am impressed many times. "I wanted to meet you!" (Laughs). Impressive reunion.

… Ah. Good ~, I really want to try Porsche delivery with this European delivery! A moving reunion in Japan with my favorite Porsche, who must have already been attached to Europe after driving in Europe with his own Porsche and then driving in Europe for several days. Oh, I might cry at the dealer for this really moving reunion (laughs).

I would like to add it to Porsche's European delivery, one of the dreams of "what I want to realize someday" ^ ^
