Oliver Blume will continue as CEO of the Volkswagen Group
Following the announcement on October 17, 2025 that discussions would begin regarding the early termination of current Porsche AG CEO Oliver Blume's term, it was announced on the same day that Michael Leiters would take over as CEO of Porsche AG on January 1, 2026.
Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG, commented:

The Supervisory Board of Porsche AG thanks Blume for his strong commitment. We look forward to continuing to work closely and trustingly with him as CEO of the Volkswagen Group."

Oliver Blume also commented on the current situation at Porsche:

This year, we have therefore restructured the company and comprehensively expanded our product strategy. With complete drivetrain flexibility and improved cost structures, Porsche is well positioned for the future. My role within the Volkswagen Group is to closely support and support Porsche's further development."
Michael Reiters's career history
Oliver Blume's successor will be Michael Reiters, who served as CTO (Chief Technical Officer) at Ferrari for over eight years and has been CEO of McLaren Automotive since July 2022.
Reiters is no stranger to Porsche AG, having previously held positions at Porsche for over 13 years prior to joining Ferrari, most recently having been involved in (and in charge of) the development of the Porsche Macan and Porsche Cayenne series.
