One year of free charging at Electrify America stations
In the United States, the 2024 Porsche fully electric Macan will come with one year of free use on Electrify America's DC fast charger network.
However, free charging is limited to 30 minutes per session.
That said, it seems that a secret trick (?) has already been shared that if you unplug the charger and then immediately plug it back in, the next 30-minute free session will start.
But with fast charging, there's almost no need to charge for such long periods of time - the EV Macan can charge at a maximum speed of 270 kilowatts, so when connected to a 350kW charging station, it can charge from 101 TP1T to 801 TP1T in about 21 minutes.
Furthermore, the EV Macan is equipped with Electrify America's plug and charge function, so after the initial setup, all you have to do is park the car at the charger, plug in the cable, and charging will start automatically without you having to do anything else.
You can also manage your charging sessions using the My Porsche app.
Electrify America currently owns more than 950 stations and more than 4,250 DC fast chargers across North America, operating 150kW and 350kW stations in 47 states, the District of Columbia and five Canadian provinces.
Will Japan also offer free charging for the first year? Is it possible that charging at the dealership is free? What do you think?
