Porsche Design watch configurator opens (Japanese)

Posted: Posted:

Porsche has announced that its official merchandise site, Porsche Lifestyle, will open a configurator for customizable watches designed by Porsche Design on May 26, 2025.

The watch configurator, which is available in Japanese, is called『Timepiece Configurator』..

From there, you can create your own Porsche Design custom built chronograph.

However, when I checked this out just now, shortly after it was announced, it sometimes took a while for the site to load initially.

This may be improved in the future, but for now, even if the site doesn't appear, it will appear if you wait a little, so please be patient.

Purchases can be made at authorized Porsche Japan dealerships nationwide, but there are some dealerships that are not eligible, so it is best to check in advance whether the dealer you use is eligible.

The watch's configurator allows for the creation of approximately 6 million different designs by combining different components.

I actually played around with it a bit, and there are certainly quite a few colors to choose from, so there are probably quite a few combinations possible.

What's even more amazing is that by switching directly from the Porsche car configurator to the timepiece configurator, the equipment options selected in the car will automatically be adopted and reflected on the watch.

I thought, "What is that? I want to try it!" and immediately tried it out, but after configuring the 911, I didn't know what to do to switch to the timepiece configurator, so I clicked on "Timepiece Configurator" at the end of the configurator... but it just launched a new watch configurator (lol).

Hmm, I wonder where to start and how to do it. I'll try again when I figure it out.

The lightweight titanium case is available in two finishes: glass bead blasted and black coated, while the dial is matte black, typical of Porsche Design.

Its exterior is inspired by the design of the rev counter of the Porsche 911, and the color surrounding the dial can be chosen from a whopping 159 Porsche genuine colors (including PTS).

By the way, these black watches ↑↓ are the two I made in the Ruby Star Neo color scheme ^^

The straps are made entirely from genuine Porsche materials, and the fine calf leather and thread used are actually the same ones used in car interiors.

Also available on a titanium bracelet.

The rotors, which can be selected individually, faithfully reproduce the alloy wheel rims in various colours, centre locks and wheel covers featuring the Porsche crest.

In addition to the chronograph caliber WERK 01.100, there is also the caliber WERK 04.110, which is equipped with a globe timer function and can display a second time zone.

All Porsche Design movements are COSC certified, so precision is guaranteed.

Furthermore, the case back is laser-engraved with the vehicle identification number (VIN) and other details, giving it a Porsche-like feel.

Each watch is handcrafted at the Porsche watchmaking facility in Solothurn, Switzerland.

If you are interested, why not try making a clock with the specifications of your car using the configurator?
