What is cladding?
I found an article that said removing the cladding on the Taycan Cross Turismo would make it look cool, but I had no idea what ``cladding'' was in the first place.
First of all, what is that cladding? Here it is.
Apparently, the resin molding in the wheel arch area is called cladding. Sorry if this is common knowledge.
This time, I saw this Taycan Cross Turismo with the cladding removed in America and thought it was cool, so I decided to take a look.
According to the article, the Taycan only has three cladding alignment pins on each wheel arch, so even after removing them, the holes can be easily filled with hole plugs.
Moreover, it seems to be so small that you won't notice it unless you look closely, and if you have the off-road design package installed, only one plug will actually be visible.
In other words, even if you remove it, it doesn't seem to create a finish that will make you realize, "Did you remove something?"
The owner of this Taycan reportedly kept the Cross Turismo's bumper design and side skirts, but removed the wheel arch cladding.
I compared it with one with cladding (image from the configurator) to see how much of a difference it actually makes in appearance, but the one with cladding can change the wheels to 21-inch Rotiform TUF. Therefore, it is not possible to compare the same wheels.

For those who say, ``I want a wagon-type Taycan, but don't want an SUV-like appearance,'' I was told that removing the cladding would make it look less like an SUV.
This time, the body color is black, so you may not be able to see that much of a change from the images, but I think the difference in appearance will be more noticeable if the body color is other than black.
Also, if you actually see it in front of your eyes, your impression may be different.
There are people who try and think about various things. But I feel like it would be more elegant if the cladding was actually removed ^^
