The 19th theme is 911
The 19th Porsche Morning Mission will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in commemoration of 911 Day, as the first "morning mission" to be held at night, and the theme will be, as expected, "911".
The atmosphere at PEC Tokyo at night is different from usual and it's really nice.
There were many applications for this night mission, which was held on September 11th, the 9/11 anniversary.
Since the event was held on a weekday at night, there may have been many people who were able to participate due to the schedule.
On this day, there will also be a special talk session with motor journalists Goro Okazaki and Tomoko Fujishima, as well as a simulator challenge.
And the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the unveiling of the new Porsche 911 Carrera!
The 992.2 type 911 Carrera was unveiled to those who participated in the night mission.
The eyes (headlights) really show that this is a new 911!
This Carrera is more different from the GTS, the hybrid version of the 911 that first appeared in the new 992.2, than the 992.1. I was wondering, "What is the difference in appearance from the 992.1?" I'm very envious of everyone who was able to see the Carrera that day.
There was also an event where everyone could take part in a parade run around the PEC Tokyo handling track at night in their own Porsches.
In the photo, it looks like a huge traffic jam on the Aqualine on the way back from PEC Tokyo. (lol) But it's a rare experience to be able to drive your own car through PEC Tokyo at night, so I think it was a very good memory for everyone.
Another thing that surprised me was that on this day, the instructor also gave a "night demonstration lap" (for a fee), and a video of this demonstration lap was later posted to PEC Tokyo's Instagram.
Looking at this, it was clear that the instructor's running was completely different from the way I usually enjoy myself at PEC Tokyo (which is to be expected, but it was even more different than I had imagined).
On PEC Tokyo's handling track, if an average participant were to reach a driving speed of just 120kph, they would be told to "slow down a bit more." However, the instructor in this video drives PEC Tokyo's track at a maximum of 170kph, and what's amazing is not only that speed, but that he can do it in complete darkness.
This was amazing for me, as I'm afraid of running in the dark.
In a dark place like PEC Tokyo, even if someone said to me, "Enjoy unlimited speed today!" I probably wouldn't be able to drive at even the legal highway speed (lol).

20th Morning Mission Overview
The next Morning Mission, the 20th, will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The theme of the 20th edition is "GT Models."
Hmm, I thought maybe I should finally apply for the first time in a while, but the event was held on a Saturday instead of the usual Sunday.
It's difficult to go on Saturdays, so I'll give up again this time. Too bad.
Mantai Kit Presentation
Here's the highlight of the 20th Morning Mission!
This time, a specialized team will be giving a presentation on the Manthey Kit developed by Manthey-Racing.
There will probably be a display of Porsches equipped with Manthey kits, which I'm looking forward to.
