Manthey Performance Kit: An upgrade kit that optimizes Porsche performance and improves circuit driving performance

Amazing, amazing. Finally.

The Porsche Manthey Performance Kit, an upgrade kit that optimizes the performance of your Porsche and improves its circuit driving performance, is now on sale in Japan.

I've only seen it overseas before.This is the Mantai performance kit.

From now on, it will be possible to install it at Porsche authorized dealers in Japan, so you may be able to come across it here and there in Japan.

Sales of the Porsche Manthey Performance Kit in Japan will begin on October 5, 2024, and the eligible vehicles are the following four GT models:

• 718 Cayman GT4
• 718 Cayman GT4 RS
• 911 GT3
• 911 GT3 Touring

*Currently, only 992.1 is covered for 911

What is Manthey Racing?

So what exactly is "Manthey"? Well, it's the name of Manthey Racing, a German company that specializes in tuning Porsche racing cars and high-performance models.

When I first saw the spelling Manthey, I wondered, "Why does this become Mantai in Japanese?" (lol), but apparently in German, "th" doesn't sound like "s" or "za" like in English, but is made into the "t" sound, and furthermore, "ey" is often pronounced "eye", so when you read "Manthey" in German it's close to the Japanese spelling "Mantai", and so it is called Mantai.

Haha, I see. That makes sense.

...I've digressed, but it seems that the Manthey Racing Team has achieved great feats such as winning titles in endurance races together with Porsche.

Speaking of achievements, over the past quarter century the team has achieved a total of 54 wins in endurance races at the Nürburgring, which is, well, quite impressive indeed.

The Manthey Performance Kit incorporates the specialized knowledge and techniques that the Manthey Racing Team has accumulated through racing into the GT model, further upgrading the car's driving performance.

The exterior features a large spoiler lip and side flaps at the front, which increase downforce on the front axle.

The rear wing is wider and features tear-off edges (Gurney).

The end plates, which feature the Mantai logo, are now larger, the wing has a larger angle of attack, and the rear diffuser fins are longer and made of carbon fiber.

The aero discs on the rear wheels are also made of carbon fibre.

Options include a lightweight wheel set, racing brake pads, and a tow loop tow hook.

The Manthey Performance Kits can be ordered at trained Porsche authorized dealers. The current list of authorized Porsche centers is as follows:

You can now experience a GT3 equipped with a Manthey Performance Kit at PEC Tokyo

This time, not only is the news that the Manthey Racing Kit is now officially on sale in Japan, but also thatPorsche Experience Center Tokyo (PEC Tokyo)However, it was also announced that it would be possible to race a Porsche 911 GT3 equipped with this Manthey Racing kit.

This is nice.

It may be quite a challenge to suddenly put a Manthey racing kit on your own GT car, but at PEC Tokyo you can first experience the Manthey Porsche 911 GT3, which I think is a very welcome thing.

Reservations for the 911 GT3 "Mantai Performance Program" at PEC Tokyo will begin on October 8, 2024.
