Porsche also urgently recalled after Lamborghini Urus caught fire (US)

This is still an announcement from the US, so we're talking about the US, but an emergency recall has been issued for several vehicles from three Volkswagen brands: Lamborghini, Audi, and Porsche, due to a fire risk.

In Porsche terms:

• 2024-2026 Cayenne
• 2024-2026 Panamera
• 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid

In the United States, there are a total of 107 affected vehicles.

The reason is that the fasteners securing the high-pressure fuel pump may not be tightened properly, which could result in a fuel leak.

In fact, in early September 2025, there were reports of a fire in a car from another brand within the group that used an engine manufactured on the same production line.The car in question was a 2025 Lamborghini Urus.

Although there was a fire, there was a smell of fuel and warning lights came on, but it is good that no one was injured. However, it seems that another incident occurred shortly afterwards.

According to the government agency, a scanner malfunction meant that "the initial tightening process was performed using standard manufacturing tools," which is thought to be the cause of the problem - the connection between the fuel line and the pump may not have been made securely.

The problem appears to be Porsche's fault. Other than Porsche, other recalls for the same reason include:

• 2025 - Lamborghini Urus
• 2025 Audi SQ7

I have not yet been able to confirm any recalls regarding this issue in Japan, but I thought there might be some people who drive the above vehicles, even if the number is small, so I wrote this just in case.
