Porsche tuner RUF has designed and built a set of significantly brighter new LED headlights for the 993-generation Porsche 911.
How bright is it? Apparently it's about three times brighter than the original headlights.
The nine-piece plug-and-play LED light kit looks great too, includes two headlights, two fog lights, two turn signals, two tail lights and a centre tail light bar, and is priced at 9,950 euros excluding shipping.
The price may seem high, but this light was designed in collaboration with Tony Hatter, the original designer of the 993 Porsche 911, and is a new LED light that is consistent with the original design philosophy.
It's not simply a replacement kit that adds LED lights to make the car brighter; it was designed by an original designer for the 993 911, so although it can no longer be called genuine, it could also be called a genuine part for a new era.
This light has also been approved by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), and is said to meet all safety standards for legality and reliability. *Currently, we do not know about Japan.
According to RUF, the installation is easy "if you have basic mechanical knowledge," so if you own a 993, it might be a good idea to change the lights to brighter ones and give it a more RUF-like look.
As a final aside, the following photo was published in an overseas article to introduce the nine parts...
Someone posted this image below in the comments section of that article, and I thought, "I know what you're talking about!" (lol).
Sorry for the last digression at the end.
