GT4 RS gas tank capacity: 54 + 8 = 64?

Posted: Posted:

The other day, when I was lining up the 718 Spyder RS and 718 GT4 RS, we started talking about how the gasoline seemed to run out quickly, so we looked into the gasoline tank capacity of these cars.

First, I looked online, but Porsche's official technical data for the 718 Spyder RS said the fuel tank capacity was 54L, but when I looked elsewhere it said it was 64L, so I didn't know what to believe and checked the manual.

The manual I checked came with the 718 GT4 RS, but it appears to be the same manual for the 718 Spyder RS as well.

If you look at the page in the manual that talks about gas tank capacity...

"Fuel - depending on the country, about 54 litres (optional: about 90 litres) or about 64 litres, including about 8 litres for reserve."

It was.

I see, so if that's the case, it would be correct whether it's written as "54L" or "64L".

...It was fine up until then, but then I thought about it, huh?

54 liters with 8 liters spare should give you a total of about 62 liters, right?

Why does 54 + 8 equal 64 (lol)???

This is what raised my question, but I think the fuel tank itself is probably designed to hold 64 liters.

However, basically, you should drive with the assumption that there is about 54 liters of fuel in it, and even if you are running out of fuel after that, there is actually another 10 liters left in reserve, but if you push it to the limit thinking "I still have 10 liters left!" and the car tilts or there is a slight error and you end up running out of gas, it would be a disaster, so I think they say to leave an extra 8 liters in reserve just to be safe.

Sorry if I'm wrong ^^

Anyway, I saw that 54 + 8 equals 64 and thought it was funny, so I wrote it down. Hehe.
