2025 Le Mans 24 Hours: Porsche's participation summary

What cars will Porsche be competing in, how many and what car numbers?

The Le Mans 24 Hours will finally be held on June 14th (Sat) to 15th (Sun) 2025! I'm sure there are many people who are looking forward to it.

This time, I would like to write some basic information such as "I want to support Porsche, but what is Porsche running and what car number is it?"

I'm not very knowledgeable about races, so I can't cheer on the races properly without knowing the basic information, so I'm checking it for myself as well (lol).

Hypercar Class: Porsche Penske Motorsport

Porsche Penske Motorsport will be competing as the Porsche factory team. The team will be running Porsche's hypercar, the Porsche 963 (LMDh standard).

The factory team will be competing with three cars, each with a different number:#4, #5, #6".

The individual drivers are as follows:

• #4:Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy, Pascal Wehrlein (*Current Formula E World Champion)
• #5: Michael Christensen, Julien Andlauer, Mathieu Jaminet
• #6: Laurens Vanthoor, Kévin Estre, Matt Campbell
• Reserve driver: Nico Müller

The team's goal this time is to "aim for their 20th overall victory."

#85 Iron Dames is a racing project/team made up entirely of female drivers.

It's a pretty pink color so you'll be able to tell right away.

Another car worth noting (?) is the 911 GT3 R from #90.

The reason is that they are participating in the race with a special color scheme that imitates "Chip Hart Racing" that appears in "F1® The Movie" starring Brad Pitt, so it feels like they are participating as a fictional racing team.

Apparently, this race is also a marketing opportunity to promote the movie, which will be released worldwide on June 27th.

Filming for this movie actually took place during the 2024 Daytona 24 Hours (with a real customer team, Wright Motorsports, competing as a fictional team).
