US fourth quarter (Q4) Porsche sales volume
I saw the Porsche sales volume announced in the 4th quarter (October-December 2021) in the United States.
First of all, this table shows the Porsche sales volume (new car) in the United States in the same period of the previous year (2020) and the fourth quarter of 2021.
model | October-December 2020 | October-December 2021 |
911 | 2,438 | 3,313 |
718 | 1,491 | 1,127 |
Taycan | 1,517 | 2,191 |
Panamera | 751 | 1,451 |
Cayenne | 5,939 | 2,191 |
Macan | 5,424 | 8,137 |
total | 17,560 | 18,410 |
In the fourth quarter of 2021, sales of Porsche-certified used cars in the United States increased by 18% from the same period of the previous year to "8,377 units".
2021 Porsche sales in the United States
And here is the Porsche sales volume in the United States throughout the year 2021 (also the figures for 2020).
The 2021 data is the figures reported by Porsche North America for "January 5th to December 31st, 2021".
model | 2020 | 2021 |
911 | 8,840 | 10,042 |
718 | 3,447 | 4,292 |
Taycan | 4,414 | 9,419 |
Panamera | 3,870 | 4,257 |
Cayenne | 18,092 | 17,299 |
Macan | 18,631 | 24,716 |
total | 57,294 | 70,025 |
The number of new Porsche cars sold in the United States in 2021 was 70,025, an increase of 22% from the previous year.
In the fourth quarter, a considerable number of 18,410 units were sold, an increase of 51 TP1T from the same period of the previous year, and it is said that the total sales volume in 2021 was the highest ever for Porsche in the United States.
It is said that the Porsche models sold were in demand for gasoline-powered vehicles, plug-in vehicles, and electric vehicles.
After all, Taycan's sales are huge, and in 2021 more than double the number of units sold compared to 2020.
I thought that the 911 would be overtaken by the Taycan in the total number of models sold in the United States throughout the year 2021, but at the last minute the number of 911s surpassed the Taycan. (But the difference is only 623).
Oh, no, it's okay if the Taycan sells better, but for me riding the 911, I feel somehow ... ^ ^
911 is 14% up from the previous year. After all it was SUVs Cayenne and Macan (42,015 units in total for these two models) that drastically pulled the total number, but it is surprising that the sales volume of Cayenne has decreased from the previous year.
718 Cayman & 718 Boxster increased by 25% from the previous year, Panamera increased by 10%.
Of the Porsche sold in 2021, the rate of fully electric vehicles is 13.5%, and the rate of electric vehicles including plug-in hybrids is 17%. In other words, the entire 30.5% has already become some kind of electric vehicle.
This is also because it is a big deal ↓ The figures for each quarter of the 2021 US Porsche sales volume are as follows:
model | January-March 2021 | April-June 2021 | July-September 2021 | October-December 2021 |
911 | 2,782 | 2,326 | 1,621 | 3,313 |
718 | 1,506 | 906 | 753 | 1,127 |
Taycan | 2,008 | 3,359 | 1,861 | 2,191 |
Panamera | 451 | 1,265 | 1,090 | 1,451 |
Cayenne | 4,230 | 6,004 | 4,874 | 2,191 |
Macan | 6,391 | 5,098 | 5,090 | 8,137 |
total | 17,368 | 18,958 | 15,289 | 18,410 |
In 2021, 100,000 new and used Porsche cars were sold in the United States
The total number of Porsche-certified used cars sold in 2021 (US) was "30,024 units", which was also a record high of 10% increase from the previous year.
In 2021, when both new and certified used cars are combined in the United States, a total of more than 100,000 Porsche units were sold (total 100,049 units) in one year for the first time.
100,000 units! It's amazing!
I think that Porsche AG will announce the worldwide Porsche sales volume in 2021 in the near future, so I would like to see it when it is announced again ^ ^
