Best of Carrera S and Carrera T
"Porsche 911 S/T" announced by Porsche the other day.
When I was looking at various explanations here, I suddenly wondered, "So what exactly does S/T stand for?"
People familiar with Porsche may already know this with common sense, but I can't be sure until I get the correct information that Porsche AG is the source, so this time I was also curious and looked into it.
And the result I arrived at was "S / T of Porsche 911 S / T is S and T of Carrera S and Carrera T" ^ ^
In this video, Mr. Andreas Preuninger, head of Porsche's GT car division, is talking.
The other dayAt the presentation of the Porsche 911 S/TIt was made clear that the car was a descendant of what was internally called the '911 ST', a special performance-oriented version of the 911 S from 1969.
In other words, the performance-oriented Porsche 911 S model that was released in 1969 was originally a combination of "the speed of the Carrera S and the light weight and simplicity of the Carrera T". The "S/T" of the Porsche 911 S/T inherited this time also came from the S and T of "Carrera S and Carrera T".
agreement.
It's not between Carrera S and Carrera T, but the best of Carrera S and Carrera T.
The Carrera S mentioned here is an S (Sports), which is a title that indicates the ever-evolving sports performance, and it means that performance is emphasized, so the engine this time is from the GT3 RS.
By the way, the video says, "Isn't this something like a 911R?" It seems that it will not be called 911R in the future."
Porsche 911 S/T configurator bug
Since the 911 S/T configurator was released, I thought I'd try making it, so I accessed the configurator.
… oh, oh.
Just when I accessed it, the S/T configurator was a bit buggy, and when I selected some colors, various parts were missing (laughs).
I can't usually see this kind of state, so I'm going to share it (lol).
Amazing, the tires are missing, but you can see the back properly.
After all, each part was missing in the rear view.
Instead of configuring the S/T, I happily enjoyed this bug (laughs).
Some body colors were displayed normally, but some colors were buggy.
If you look closely at the interior, there is no manual shift, the center of the bucket seat is missing, and there is no logo.
It's interesting how the bugs come out. Oh, I'm sorry I had fun, Mr. PJ (laughs).
There was one more door courtesy light that appeared in the video above, but I didn't know how to select it.
Door courtesy light, if you try to select it normally with the configurator, there is only this ↓
However, the S/T courtesy light of the heritage design package in the video was like this ↓
Will it change automatically if I choose the Heritage Design Package (2,622,000 yen)? I thought that too, but at first glance, it doesn't seem like that.
When I chose the heritage design, it came with the following and no mention of courtesy lights:
Exterior
- Dedicated exterior color Shore Blue Metallic (Other colors can be selected)
- 60 Years 911 Motorsport Heritage Design side decal (with lollipop and "PORSCHE" logo) and your favorite bib number up to 2 digits can be selected. * Optional "PORSCHE" logo decal only or graphic can be deleted
- Dedicated wheel (ceramica paint finish)
- Decorative wheel center caps and bonnet crest with Historic Porsche Crest
- Exclusive silver color grille (front apron, bonnet and rear lid)
- Exclusive “911 S/T” model badge (gold)
- Exclusive 'PORSCHE' logo (gold)
- Exclusive black indoor car cover with “60 years of the 911” logo
Interior (excerpt)
- Heritage Design Semi-Arinine leather interior with two-tone extended leather items (black/cognac)
- Exclusive design leather seat
The seat upholstery is classic cognac and black leather, while the seat center is classic cognac fabric with black pinstripes. - Exclusive Extended Leather Finish:
Black leather is used for the dashboard and steering column. Classic cognac semi-aniline leather is also used for the passenger cup holder trim, fuse box cover and central air vent louver. - Classic Cognac Semi-Arinine Leather Interior Package
* Black leather is used for other parts. - Steering wheel with historic Porsche crest reminiscent of the 1964 model year and vehicle keys painted in exterior color
- Historic Porsche Crest embossing on headrests
- Exclusive heritage design floor mat
Since the description of the interior is "excerpt", will this courtesy light change if it is a heritage design package?
I don't know, but it was one of the things I was worried about ^ ^ (I don't care if I say I don't care (laughs)).
