Looking only at Q3, it decreased due to the influence of supply chain problems
The sales volume of Porsche in North America for the third quarter of 2021 was announced.
Looking only at Q3, due to the influence of the supply chain problem in the automobile industry that has continued recently, the total number of Porsche in North America sold in Q3 was "15,289 units", down 1.7% from the same period of the previous year.
However, in 2021 as a whole, the number of vehicles sold from January to September (Q1 to Q3) was 29.9% higher than the same period of the previous year, recording 51,615 units, which is higher than the same period of 2019 before the corona pandemic. ..
According to Porsche CEO Kjell Gruner of North America, the current demand is extremely high like never before. After all, is it a situation where demand is high but there are not enough cars to sell? (Because production is not in time)
Growth in the third quarter was driven by the 911 model, up 3.4% year-on-year.
In Taycan, although it increased by 0.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, it has already more than doubled from January to September compared to the same period of the previous year.
As a result, the sales volume of Panamera and Cayenne also increased slightly from the same period of the previous year in Q3.
The 718 model and Macan decreased slightly from the same period of the previous year.
Porsche certified used car sales also decreased slightly in 2021 Q3
Sales of Porsche-certified used cars in the United States decreased by 8% from the same period of the previous year to 7,071 units in the third quarter. Compared to the same period of the previous year from January to September (Q1 to Q3), 7% increased to a total of 21,648 units.
