Early 997 Porsche 911 GT3
We are pleased to announce that a pre-997 Porsche 911 GT3 (used car) was delivered to Porsche Center Takanawa on August 1, 2024.
This is the yellow 997 GT3 that was delivered this time. It's Speed Yellow.
Mmm, so cute!!
A while agoWhen you write that you purchased a certified pre-owned vehicleDid anyone imagine that this was the model I purchased?
*Sorry, it was my mistake that a 15-year-old car was just a "used car" and not "certified"! I thought it was called a "certified used car" but just didn't have a warranty (lol).
Actually, I first met this Porsche a long time ago.
I had been introduced to this 997 before, and at the time I already had the desire to purchase it, but at the time there was someone else who wanted to buy it before us, so that person ended up buying it.
And this time, the person who bought it decided to sell it, so it finally came to our home.
I'm happy because I never thought he would come back.
Even more thankfully, the previous owner had replaced all the slightly worn Alcantara steering wheel, shift lever, etc. with brand new parts.
Therefore, the interior of the car is so beautiful that it is hard to believe it is a car from about 15 years ago.
If you had come to our house first when we spoke last time, I don't think we would have been able to repair it so nicely, so I'm sure Porsche is happy (and my house is happy too (lol)). Thank you).
And although the calipers are yellow and at first glance look like PCCBs, they have actually been changed to steel.
However, this is not a car that has been driven on a circuit.
On this day, I went to pick up the 997GT3 in a black Carrera for delivery, so I took two cars on the way back.
I couldn't help but grin as I watched the yellow GT3 in front of me. The car is so low.
I still look at it when I'm standing next to it.
So, since there were two cars together, we took a commemorative photo.
The yellow one is smaller in size, but it's hard to tell from the photo. The car's height is lower than the black Carrera, but when you compare them, it seems surprisingly taller.
This 997 GT3 is a manual.
I also tried driving it within my parking lot at home that day, and what surprised me was how heavy the clutch and steering were.
The moment I stepped on the clutch I said "It's heavy." I thought "It's heavy, is it about this heavy?" and when I stepped on it I was told "No, it goes further." I thought "Huh?" and stepped on it further, and it was really deeper than that...
But what surprised me was that it didn't seem like it would stall.
Sorry, this is just my own meaningless subjective opinion so please just ignore it (lol).
BeforeWhen I drove the 718 Boxster GTS 2.5 MTWhen I was in first gear, I felt like I was going to stall or it would rattle if I didn't have a decent amount of speed. The latest manual transmission car, the Carrera TThe Carrera T didn't have that problem, and even when it was running slowly in first gear, it moved smoothly without stalling...or so I thought, but it seems the GT3 is closer to that Carrera T.
Do you understand (lol)?
I don't understand anything complicated like gear ratios, so it's all by feel, but for now, I didn't feel any fear of the Porsche stalling even at low speeds.
That was good (←I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to drive it until I actually tried it ^^).
That day, I drove home in my black Carrera again, grinning as I gazed upon the rear of the yellow GT3.
So cute.
I'm planning to try out a lot of driving in the GT3 this weekend, so I'd like to start by getting used to it little by little.
That's right, I was parking my car in my parking lot at home and thought I should fold up the door mirrors just to be safe.
Door mirrors are opened and closed manually. It's been a while since I've had to manually fold the door mirrors." I tried it and...
After it folds up, it bounces back when you let go (laughs). No matter how many times you do it, it bounces back to its original position.
When I called the sales person, he said that after folding it, you lock it with a red knob. Oh, that's true. I looked and there was something there:
It was interesting to discover some strange things and realize that even though they are all folded manually, there are many different ways to do it.
Oh, one more thing.
Here's a recent trend(?) called "plot resolution."
Is there anyone who understands this?
Yes, here↓
When I went to the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo the other day,The Porsche I drew (painted)However, in fact, it was intended for the 997 GT3 that was delivered this time.
I hope I can have a good time with my new Porsche again.
