This roof tent is equipped with a dedicated hard case designed and developed jointly with the Weissach Development Center and Studio FA Porsche.
Roof tent mountable model
It can be installed without roof rails (even if there are), so it can be installed on the following models:
- 911 (Excluding GT models, cabriolet and Targa)
- Macan
- Cayenne
- Panamera
- Taycan
This tent, which is installed on the roof of the car (roof), is said to be able to enjoy quite a view, and two windows on the side and a skylight are standard equipment.
The two windows on this side can be opened for ventilation, and if there is an insect repellent guard, it is also possible to block light with a light blocking function.
This tent is for two people and is suitable for all seasons.
The tent has a floor area of 210 x 130 cm and a comfortable high-density polyfoam mattress.
The sides (walls) of the tent are made of a breathable cotton blend, and it also has a waterproof zipper and a rain cover for entering the tent, so it can be used in rainy weather.
The sidewall imitates the fly line of 911, and of course the PORSCHE logo is included.
The interior features a highly insulating quilted lining (light gray) and a mountain silhouette at the head end. By the way, it seems that the same quilting pattern is attached to the mattress.
Is it easy to use
This is a genuine Porsche roof tent, but isn't it difficult for beginners who are not used to it? I thought, but in fact it is very easy to set up.
It seems to open the locked latch and then open the hard case, which also seems to be very easy to open as it utilizes two gas pressure shock absorbers.
Next, stabilize the part that will be the floor with a telescopic ladder, then set up the tent and support it with four poles to complete it.
Looking at it like this, I feel like I can easily set it up, but what do you think? ?
The hard case can be selected from three colors: black, black & light gray, black & dark gray, each with matte black PORSCHE logo.
According to the announcement from Porsche AG, it will be possible to purchase at the Porsche Center etc. from November 2022, but we do not know the details about the sales situation in Japan.
Additional options include inner tents, heat blankets, and shoe and bag organizers.
