What was thought to be a Manteige kit development for the Taycan Turbo GT...
In July 2025, Porsche and Manthey were spotted testing an improved Taycan Turbo GT.
Furthermore, other prototypes different from the first one were spotted afterwards.

While it was known that these spotted models were based on the Taycan Turbo GT equipped with the Weissach package, it was still unclear what exactly they were.
Until now, this was thought to be a vehicle for developing a Manthey kit for the Taycan Turbo GT, but now it has suddenly been revealed that "no, this is not a Manthey kit, but a model that will be released as the Taycan GT4 RS."
No, it's still just a rumor though.

By the way, according to a report from a photographer who was trying to get spy shots, Porsche, with these new improvements, had driver Lars Kern attempt to break the lap time record at the Nürburgring on September 10th.

Unfortunately, it seems that they ran into some kind of trouble and were unable to break the record.

In addition to the second prototype having a damaged aerodynamic diffuser, the purple one has an even more striking presence thanks to the aero discs fitted to the rear wheels.

According to past data, the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package recorded a lap time of 7:07.55 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2024, but the current fastest lap time for an electric vehicle is 7:04.957, held by the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.
It seems that Porsche's goal is to beat this time (although it is also said that they may have even bigger ambitions).

In any case, if the car currently being developed based on the Taycan Turbo GT were to go on sale, it is expected that its price would be significantly higher than that of the Taycan Turbo GT, and it would probably be a limited edition model.

Even so, I wondered whether it was really appropriate to give such an electric vehicle model the same name that had been given to the gasoline engine models up until now, and I suppose the reason they didn't call it the "Taycan Turbo GT3" is because they are trying to avoid using a name in the 911 range.

So, the question becomes, "So, would a GT4 RS be okay?" Since the upcoming 718 will be an EV, a GT4 RS is possible even as an EV... and in fact, there is already a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance... so perhaps the decision was made that "Oh, a Taycan or a Taycan Turbo GT4RS would be okay" ^^?
