Porsche's top one-make race, Supercup, kicks off the 2026 season in Barcelona
Approximately 120 new Porsche 911 Cups have been delivered to each team for the Supercup (Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup), which is said to be Porsche's highest level one-make race.
The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup drivers gathered at the Barcelona F1 circuit to drive the 911 Cup cars.
Even so, when I hear "Super Cup," the first thing that comes to mind for me in Japan is the ice cream Super Cup, so I can't help but imagine it as ice cream... but is that not the case? Or not (lol).
The new Porsche 911 Cup made its European circuit debut at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, and all of the 911 Cup vehicles at this time were painted in the original GT Silver Metallic color.
This is also really cool. Whenever a car is first delivered, it is painted in GT Silver, and then each team paints it.
Approximately 120 new Porsche 911 Cup cars will compete in these four series:
- Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup
- Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland
- Porsche Carrera Cup Asia
- Porsche Carrera Cup North America
By the way, the first shakedowns have already been completed at the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia held in China and the Porsche Carrera Cup North America held in Florida.
The participants in Barcelona on March 2, 2026 completed over 2,300 laps around the Spanish F1 circuit, which is amazing!
The sight of every new Cup car being delivered is truly spectacular and cool. And the fact that they're all GT Silver is just too cool and awesome.
The 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup schedule is as follows:
- June 4-7 Monaco Grand Prix (Monte-Carlo)
- June 12-14: Spanish Grand Prix (Barcelona-Catalunya)
- June 26-28 Austrian Grand Prix (Spielberg)
- July 17-19 Belgian Grand Prix (Spa-Francorchamps)
- July 24-26 Hungarian Grand Prix (Budapest)
- August 21-23 Dutch Grand Prix (Zandvoort double-header)
- September 4-6: Italian Grand Prix (Monza)
