At the final selection meeting to determine the 2025-2026 Japan Car of the Year, announced on December 4, 2025, Porsche's 911 Carrera GTS (T-Hybrid) was awarded the Technology Car of the Year award.

In addition, the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo (PEC Tokyo) received the Japan Car of the Year Executive Committee Special Award.

Apparently, Porsche has never won the Japan Car of the Year award in its 46-year history, which surprised me.
This is the first time that Porsche has won this award, and it is an incredible achievement to have been selected in two categories at the same time.
Imo Buschmann, CEO of Porsche Japan, commented:
- It is a great honor to have Porsche selected for two awards for the first time in the nearly 50-year history of the Japan Car of the Year awards.
- This year marks the 30th anniversary of Porsche Japan, and we are extremely pleased that Porsche has received these prestigious awards for the first time in Japan, a country with a mature automotive culture and a strong passion for cars.
- Porsche Japan will continue its activities with the aim of contributing to the development of automotive culture through sports cars and to a mobility society.
- Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved with Japan Car of the Year.
The 911 Carrera GTS is equipped with the newly developed T-Hybrid hybrid system, which Porsche has adopted for the first time in a 911, and this is the first time that it has won the Technology Car of the Year award.

PEC Tokyo, which won the Japan Car of the Year Executive Committee Special Award, was established in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture as a large-scale Porsche brand experience facility, and has since functioned as an open hub that embodies Porsche's brand experience, education, and community coexistence.
Porsche Japan has positioned Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture as an important community, and since opening in 2021, has been contributing to promoting the area's appeal through initiatives such as an organic rice project to provide school lunches, the Kisarazu Blueberry Run, and offering PEC Tokyo programs as gifts in return for hometown tax donations.
