Porsche worldwide sales in the first half of 2025 (Q1 & Q2)

Posted on: July 8, 2025 Updated:

Porsche sales to reach 146,391 units in the first half of 2025

Half a year has already passed since the start of 2025. It is now the time when Porsche AG will announce its financial results for the first half of 2025 (January to June).

Porsche's global sales for the first half of 2025 are expected to be 146,391 units.

Of these, 36.11 TP1T were electric vehicles (up 14.51 TP1T compared to the same period last year), with 23.51 TP1T being fully electric vehicles (EVs) and 12.61 TP1T being plug-in hybrids (PHVs).

Overseas/Emerging Markets23,95627,89327,41430,15810%

By region, North America continued to be the largest sales region, with 43,577 units sold. This is an increase of 101 TP1T compared to the same period last year, and is said to be the highest number of units sold in the region for a half year.

The increase in sales in North America is said to be due to improved product supply in the market and price protection measures implemented in the first half of the year in response to increased import tariffs.

In overseas and emerging markets, sales in the first half of 2025 are expected to reach a record high of 30,158 units.

According to Matthias Becker, Porsche AG's board member for sales and marketing, the fully electric Macan is a major contributor to Porsche's electrified vehicle portfolio.

They also said, "Customers still place importance on the value of having a car that is uniquely theirs, and we will continue to work on enhancing our individualized options to meet those needs."

In Europe excluding Germany, sales were 35,381 units, down 81 TP1T compared to the same period last year, and in Germany, sales were 15,973 units, down 231 TP1T compared to the same period last year. The reason for the decrease in sales volume is said to be due to the strong performance of the previous year.

China is still experiencing a larger decline than Germany, with sales down 281 TP1T compared to the same period last year, at 21,302 units.excuseIt seems there is no reason for this anymore.

For the time being, Porsche says that although global sales in the first half of the year were down 61 TP1T compared to the previous year, sales were well balanced between each sales region.

The best-selling model in the first half of 2025 will be the Macan

Looking at the growth by model, the Macan saw the most significant growth among the six model lines, with sales up 151 TP1T compared to the same period last year to 45,137 units, of which approximately 601 TP1T (25,884 units) were EVs.

In most markets outside the EU, the internal combustion engine Macan is still available, with 19,253 of these sold.

7189,77711,03511,88610,496-12%

The Panamera also performed well, increasing 13% from the same period last year to 14,975 units.

The 911 sold 25,608 units, down from the same period last year. The reason for the decrease compared to the previous year was the strong final sales of the previous model last year and the fact that the new model is still being introduced in stages.

What about the 718 Boxster and Cayman? Sales were down 121 TP1T from the same period last year to 10,496 units. The reason is that the availability of models is limited due to EU cybersecurity regulations. Incidentally, production of the current 718 series is scheduled to be phased out in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Taycan sold 8,302 units (-6% compared to the same period last year). The Cayenne also sold 41,873 units, down 23%.

Porsche AG expects the environment to remain challenging for the foreseeable future. This is why it is considered necessary to carefully balance supplies in line with the "value over volume" strategy.

I fully understand that it's difficult - there are various regulations, having to sell EVs, each country's circumstances, sudden heavy taxes, parts not arriving on schedule, various cost hikes, etc. - but I can only hope that they will continue to produce models and sales methods that make Porsche fans think, "After all, Porsche is the best, I want it."

Huh? Me?

Of course, I still love Porsche.
