Contents of Porsche AG Annual Report 2023
Well, the other day Porsche AG announced its annual report and held a press conference accordingly.
The contents announced at the press conference are as written here →2023 Porsche Summary: Annual Press Conference 2024
As was said there, the new Porsche 911, which is said to be the 992.2 model, was ``to be announced in early summer 2024, including a high-performance hybrid model.''
Furthermore, many media outlets were writing about the 992.2 information all at once based on the contents of the annual report.
So, I couldn't help but check this annual report myself, so I'll go ahead and check it out.
I like to have fun with rumors, but in reality I only believe things that have proper source information ^^
This annual report is surprisingly 476 pages long. Even the spread PDF is 239 pages.
Well, if it wasn't for work, I wouldn't read it... So, since it's not work, I haven't read it all, but I've only looked at the parts that seemed important to me.
Anyway, Porsche's annual report has so many cool photos recommended by Oliver that you suddenly think, "Is this a photo book of CEO Oliver Blume?"
Oh yeah, there were also interviews with Porsche AG executives, including Oliver, so if you're interested, you might want to take a look.
We ask each of them questions such as ``Do you have any dreams that have not come true yet?'' and ``What is your dream car?'' By the way, Oliver's dream cars are an ``old black Beetle'' and ``my 911R.'' I have a 911R.
The 911 hybrid model has a 6-cylinder engine
Story was it. Now, I would like to take a look at the aspects related to the future of 911.
What was written on this page labeled "Drive System" was:
Its drive technology has continued to develop, but the fundamental concept has remained unchanged - whether naturally aspired, as a turbo, or in the future even as an ultra-sporty hybrid.
In other words, ``While the drive technology (of the 911) continues to develop, the basic concept remains the same. Naturally aspirated (NA), turbo, and in the future even an ultra-sporty hybrid.
This part, ``In the future, even an ultra-sporty hybrid'' is written about the 911 hybrid.
Porsche seems to have decided to call the hybridization of the 911 an "ultra sporty hybrid" rather than just a hybrid.
Also included in the report are words from Frank Moser, head of the 911 and 718 model lines:
The high-performance hybrid seamlessly continues innovative development of the 911 drive.
Ah, this time it's a "high performance hybrid" (lol).
In any case, the 911's hybrid system is not just a hybrid, but something that is ``ultra sporty'' and ``high performance.''
Another thing worth noting is the text written in small letters below the photo above.
That is ``the ultra-sporty hybrid makes the six-cylinder even faster and more efficient.''
In other words, this ultra-sporty hybrid model 911 is definitely a 6-cylinder engine.
Only selected 911 models are hybrid
Also in the report:
The next big step in 2024 is just around the corner, as Porsche has developed an ultra-sporty hybrid-as seen in racing -- for selected derivatives of the 911 model line.
“The next big step in 2024 is right around the corner. In selected derivatives of the 911, Porsche has developed ultra-sporty hybrids similar to those seen in racing.
As shown here, only "selected derived models" in the 911 model line will be released as ultra sporty hybrids, so conversely, non-hybrid models will be released for models that are not selected. Become.
Another thing that Frank says is, ``This benefits the driver whenver they're accelerating. We therefore have a technology that weill prepare us for future emission standards.'' Typical of the Porsche 911.''
In other words, ``[high-performance hybrids] allow drivers to benefit when accelerating, and we have the technology to prepare for future emissions standards.''
Although it was hybridized in order to comply with emission standards, Porsche is positioning it as a hybrid model that will further evolve the 911, with a focus on high performance.
A few years ago, I used to think, ``What a 911 electric car (including hybrid),'' but now I'm calmly thinking, ``A hybrid 911 looks interesting, too.'' I'm looking forward to the announcement.
Of course, I won't let go of ICE 911~^^
