The first Porsche 911 GT3 Cabriolet
Actually, there have been rumors overseas for quite some time that Porsche's first "Porsche 911 GT3 Cabriolet" will be released next month (or early April, according to other rumors), and now it has finally been reported in overseas media, so I would like to write about it here on my blog ^^
What is being called the GT3 Cabriolet this time is said to be a different car from the Speedster.
A while ago, a photo of what appears to be a prototype of the GT3 Cabriolet was shared on social media, and it is said that this car, named GT3 Sport Cabriolet, will be released next month.
The GT3 Sports Cabriolet is a soft-top GT3 Touring
According to spy shots, the centrally mounted twin exhausts are said to indicate that this car is derived from the GT3, and the retractable rear spoiler is closer to the comfort-focused GT3 Touring, presumably because a large rear wing would be difficult to install on a convertible.
When rumors of the release of this GT3 Cabriolet first surfaced, there was information that "this car will likely incorporate some 911 S/T elements," and it appears that these elements will be the front fenders, so it looks like the front fenders of this GT3 Cabriolet will come from the 911 S/T.

It is possible that the car will use the 518 horsepower engine from the GT3 RS and be paired with a manual transmission.
Even from the overseas rumor mill (what's that (lol)), which I trust the most, it seems that this GT3 Cabriolet will only be available with a manual transmission, so it may indeed be manual transmission only after all.
Another thing they said there was that there were no back seats.
It is said that options will be available to add heritage elements, but I wonder how much those options will cost... That's the scariest part (lol).
It is unclear whether this 911 GT3 Sport Cabriolet will be a limited edition vehicle with limited production numbers.
However, there are rumors that 120 of these cars will be sold in the UK at this time, so even though the number of cars sold worldwide is small, it is possible that this car will not be treated as a "limited edition car." → By the way, the rumors are that "only a limited number will be produced, but they will not have serial numbers like the S/T."
Sorry, most of the information I'm sharing is based on rumors (lol).
I've been seeing and hearing various rumors and it's been exciting... It's something I'm looking forward to hearing recently ^^

Why a GT3 Cabriolet and not a Speedster?
There is a possibility that a Speedster will be released separately from this GT3 Cabriolet, but for now, one of the reasons why it may be released as a "GT3 Cabriolet" instead of a "Speedster" is that the Speedster's roof system is difficult to use and therefore lacks practicality.
However, by making this a "cabriolet model," it will effectively be the successor to the Speedster, but it will be a more luxurious and user-friendly car.
This means you can open and close the roof with just one button. Awesome!
Well, although there have been articles about it in the foreign media, it's still just a rumor, so I'm looking forward to the day it's officially announced.
