Thank you for your continued support this year
Once again, we look forward to your continued support in 2026.
I update the blog at a random frequency, but I would be happy if you could take a look at it every now and then when you have some free time this year as well ^^
Now, this isn't about the New Year holidays, but I'd like to talk about one thing I did in 2025 that I haven't written about yet.
Last year in September 2025, I wrote about my trip in a Porsche 911 GT3 (997) from Tokyo to Kanazawa to Ise Shrine, but there was another main purpose for this trip.
Articles on Kanazawa and Ise can be found here:Traveling around Kanazawa and Ise in a Porsche 911 GT3
That's where we headed from Ise Shrine...but first of all, it was quite difficult just to get to our destination.
When I set the navigation to my destination and drove, I found myself on a really narrow, narrow road through the forest, and I thought, "This isn't where I should have come in the GT3, is it?" It was a nerve-wracking journey, with some parts making me wonder if it would be better to turn back several times.
In the first place, when I found out about this place, I thought "I want to go!" One of my Porsche girl friends had been there and I thought "Wow, that's great, I definitely want to go here," and then another Porsche girl had also been there, so when I saw that, I thought "Oh my gosh, I'm definitely going right now!" and so I went there.

So, I felt reassured that both of the Porsche girls were driving Porsches, and I didn't expect the harsh roads that awaited me, so I went in the GT3 without thinking about it at all.
But I was wrong. Maybe the route I chose was wrong.
Later, when I told the two Porsche girls who introduced me to this place, "I've been there," they said, "The road to get there was terrible, wasn't it?" and I was like, "What? So the road was really rough for everyone!" (laughs).

After driving along a route that made me a little nervous and wondering, "Is this really the right road?", I arrived at this destination.

Something is there!

Meet Sonic in Mie Prefecture
Ouch!
There was Sonic!
I wanted to go there. I wanted to meet Sonic, who suddenly appears in a place that makes you wonder, "Why is he in a place like this?"
If you're interested in why Sonic is here, you can read it here:Town Net: The family of the person who installed the mysterious Sonic statue deep in the mountains of Mie Prefecture reveals the whole truth

When I researched this place beforehand, I got the impression that more people stopped by on their motorcycles than those who went to see it by car, and in fact on the day I visited, there were two motorcycle friends and one other motorcyclist there.

The purpose of coming here was to see the Sonic itself...or rather, to take photos of the Sonic and the GT3.
So, here we go.
No, this is too far. I guess I'll have to put the Sonic on top of the GT3.

So, here's the shot I took! Wow, it's awesome. Sonic on top of the GT3!

By the way, if you have a car with a high ground clearance, I think it would be relatively easy to take a photo with Sonic on the roof of the car, but if you have a low ground clearance car like a Porsche 911, you would have to crawl on the ground in order to take a photo with this composition, so if you go to take a photo... good luck (lol).
Also, on the way back from Sonic, I was able to return on a nicely paved road without going back through the forest, so before you go here, I think it's better to specify a route that will take you here without going through the forest, rather than leaving it up to the navigation system.
*If your navigation system's route from your current location (especially towards Ise) to Sonic passes through Menard Aoyama Resort, it is best not to take that route.
Sonic's Location
Sonic is located in Iga City, Mie Prefecture. Click here to open the location on Google Maps:Map of Sonic locations in Mie Prefecture
Also, when I say photography, I mean to stop on the side of the road as quickly as possible, take a quick photo, and then leave, so as not to cause any inconvenience. On this day, there were almost no cars passing by on this road, which was good, but please be careful when there are a lot of cars.
Even in 2026, if I ever find myself thinking, "I want to go here in a Porsche," I want to be able to act immediately.
By the way, this is Solar Ark, which I stopped by during my pilgrimage to Ise Shrine in 2024.

Porsche is the best because it takes me to many places and gives me the motivation to go to many places!
