Let's take a look at what was announced about the entry-level EV Macan and EV Macan 4S:
Electric Macan: 100 kWh battery and highly efficient power electronics
- The entry-level electric Macan also gets its energy from a 100 kWh high-voltage battery.
- Power is provided exclusively by the rear-axle electric motor used in the Macan 4, which has a diameter of 210 mm, an effective length of 200 mm and an output of 250 kW (340 PS).
- The electric motor has a 480 amp pulsed-current inverter (PWR) that uses silicon carbide (SiC), a highly efficient semiconductor material, to increase efficiency, which significantly reduces the switching losses of the PWR and increases the switching frequency.
- When combined with Launch Control, the Macan can produce up to 265 kW (360 PS) of overboost power and a maximum torque of 563 Nm.
- 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds
- The maximum speed is 220km/h
- Without all-wheel drive, the Macan is 110kg lighter than the Macan 4.
- Less power is required for propulsion, resulting in a combined WLTP range of up to 641 km (EU spec).
Electric Macan 4S: Powerful electric motor and PASM as standard
- Like the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, the Macan 4S is equipped with the electronic Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) system, which distributes power between the front and rear wheels around five times faster than a conventional all-wheel drive system.
- Macan 4S equipped with new rear axle motor and powerful 600 amp SiC pulse inverter
- The electric motor has a diameter of 230 mm and an effective length of 150 mm.
- Combined with the front axle motor, which is also used in the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, the system output is 330 kW (448 PS), with short-term power overboost available to reach up to 380 kW (516 PS).
- With launch control, maximum torque is 820Nm
- With launch control, the Macan 4S can reach 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.
- The maximum speed is 240km/h
- WLTP combined range is up to 606km (EU spec)
- The Macan 4S comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
- Adaptive air suspension with levelling system and height adjustment, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and rear-axle steering make it possible to further optimise the chassis for increased performance and comfort.
- The two new models retain all the qualities of the second-generation Macan, including a progressive, timeless design with range-optimised aerodynamics (cw=0.25).
- Premium Platform Electric (PPE) 800-Volt architecture enables DC charging capacity of up to 270 kW
- The high-voltage battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes at a suitable fast-charging station.
New Color, Wheel and Off-Road Design Packages
- New exterior color "Slate Grey Neo" now available for all Macan models
- The 20-inch Macan S wheels have been added to the wheel portfolio.
- A new Off-Road Design package is available as an option for all models, further enhancing the Macan's everyday usability.
- You can now ride more easily on rough unpaved roads and especially steep uphill and downhill sections.
- The redesigned front bumper increases the approach angle by up to 17.4 degrees depending on the model (with the air suspension in its highest level).
- Combined with the adaptive air suspension, the Off-Road Design Package provides a ground clearance of 195mm, 10mm higher than the standard setting.
- The Off-Road Design Package is available in two colors:
- Vesuvius Grey
- Exterior color
- The following parts are painted in the above colors with the Off-Road Design Package:
- Front bumper
- Side skirt
- Diffuser Panel
- Roof rails
- Also available are 21-inch off-road design wheels in Vesuvius Grey.
- If the Off-Road Design Package is selected as the vehicle's exterior color, the side blades will also be painted in the same color.
- The roof rails are available in three colours:
- black
- Silver
- Turbo Night (turbo only)
- For the Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S, the Off-Road front bumper with Vesuvius Gray inlay (a separate option) increases the approach angle, just like the Off-Road Design package.
Porsche Driver Experience with new design and new features
- With the shift to EV, the EV Macan will feature new display and control systems.
- The Porsche Driver Experience combines digital and analogue elements
- This includes:
- Instrument cluster with 12.6-inch curved display
- 10.9-inch passenger display
- Head-up display with augmented reality technology
- Ambient lighting with communication lights
- Complete screen design upgrade again for all Macan models
- Emotional welcome animation, modern look, and a new Themes app that lets you adjust the display background color and ambient lighting to match your exterior color, available in 12 colors
