Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2024
This year's Goodwood Festival Of Speed was held from July 11th to July 14th, 2024.
I wonder if there are people from Japan who participated in this event again this time? (That's great!)
At this event, the 992.2 generation Porsche 911 made its appearance, which was a delight for Porsche fans.
I'm so envious that you had the opportunity to see the latest Porsche 911.
911 Carrera GTS with motorsport-inspired T-Hybrid
The theme of this event was "Horseless to Hybrid - Revolutions in Power." In other words, the theme was the revolution and evolution of powertrains, from "horseless carriages to hybrids."
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, a hybrid model of this generation, fits perfectly into this theme.
It was a perfect venue for their debut, and was in keeping with the theme.
Porsche also exhibited the new full EV Macan Turbo, the new Cayenne GTS, the Taycan Turbo GT, and the 911 S/T.
Also taking part in Goodwood's famous hill climb were a 992-generation 911 GT3 Cup car driven by Porsche GB junior James Wallis and a Taycan Turbo GT driven by Porsche test driver Lars Kern.
It's worth noting here that all of the Porsches that took part in this year's Goodwood Hill Climb were running on eFuels (synthetic fuel).
50 years of the Porsche Turbo
In addition, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of Porsche's turbo models, a total of six historical turbo models will be on display, including the 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 Coupe, the 992 and 996 generation 911 Turbo, and the Cayenne Turbo, as well as four current turbo models.
There was also a cutaway model of the 996 generation turbo model on display. Hmm, this looks painful, but I want to see it.
House of Porsche
There was also a facility called the "House of Porsche," where highlights of the current lineup were displayed alongside historical Porsche Classic models.
This includes the EV Macan, Taycan, plug-in hybrid Cayenne, and the new Panamera.
At the House of Porsche, visitors could also try out the latest Porsche merchandise, including Porsche Design watches, and relax in the on-site cafe.
There was also an area for children, who were entertained without getting bored, and adults were also able to enjoy listening to an interview with Porsche brand ambassador Mark Webber.
That's nice. Sounds fun.
In addition, an outdoor-themed celebration event was held at "Camp Cayenne" behind the Porsche House, featuring the Macan and 911 Dakar.
In addition, approximately 250 Porsches owned by members of the Porsche Club UK were on display at the venue, with the exhibits changing daily.
Even if we only look at Porsche, it seems like it was a very intense few days.
