Spy shots have been captured of what appears to be a fully electric version of the 2027 Porsche Cayenne Coupe.
This incident was reported overseas on June 10th, 2025.

As I look at those pictures
"They're using this weird camouflage around the headlights again. It makes the Porsches look really ugly."
I was thinking about trivial things that have nothing to do with performance.

With that in mind, I just skimmed over the article, thinking that Porsche would make an official announcement when the time came.

However.
The next day, new news catches my eye.
The news in question was "Porsche's Cayenne EV quietly breaks record."
The Cayenne EV, which has yet to be officially announced and only spy shots have been released so far, apparently broke a record at the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb held in the UK last weekend.

The Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb is part of the 2025 British Hill Climb Championship and is the world's oldest motorsport venue still using the same course as it was back then.
The first recorded use of this place was on August 12, 1905, which is impressive - 120 years ago!
The Cayenne that appeared in this hill climb was still camouflaged, of course. But it wasn't the same ugly camouflage as before, it was a really cool camouflage.
If he was going to run in camouflage, it might have been better to run in that ugly camouflage, so that when he set a new record, there would have been even more of a contrast with "What, that ugly camouflage broke the record?!" ^^

The new EV Cayenne was driven by Gabriela Jilkova, a development driver for Porsche's Formula E program.
The fully electric Cayenne completed the 914-metre course in a record time of just 31.28 seconds.
The previous fastest time for an SUV in this hill climb event was held by the Bentley Bentayga W12, but the Cayenne EV's time was four seconds faster than that record, and just slightly faster than the 31.43 seconds set by Porsche's Taycan Turbo S, another fully electric vehicle.

It's amazing that the giant Cayenne can achieve a faster hill climb time than the Taycan Turbo S.
Of course, the Cayenne EV is still just a prototype and not a mass-produced vehicle that will be sold commercially, but it's still amazing that it's an SUV that's faster than the Taycan.
The upcoming Cayenne EV is said to be based on the same PPE platform as the new Macan EV, and is expected to be sold alongside the gasoline Cayenne until the 2030s.
