At the WWDC (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference) held in June 2022, Apple announced a major expansion of the Apple CarPlay system and the list of brands it had signed contracts with at that time.
The following brands are said to be enrolling in the new CarPlay program:
- Ford
- lincoln
- Mercedes-Benz
- infinity
- Honda
- acura
- jaguar
- land rover
- Audi
- nissan
- renault
- volvo
- pole star
- Porsche
It was said that it would be announced at the end of 2023 which of these brands would be the first to be equipped with the latest Apple CarPlay.
As those words suggest, the other day it was announced that the ``brands that will be the first to install the new CarPlay in their cars'' are ``Porsche and Aston Martin.''
that? Aston Martin wasn't on the original list, but it suddenly appeared and became the first brand to adopt the new CarPlay.
Here is the new Apple CarPlay image for Aston Martin released by Apple.
It is still unclear how the new system will actually be integrated into the car, and when it will be installed in which models at Porsche.
All we know is that it will start sometime in 2024.
This is an image of Porsche ↓... hmm?
Isn't the central screen vertically large? ? Just an image? Or will it become like this in the future? ?
It seems that the screen behind the steering wheel can also display an iPhone-style display, but it seems that it is not known how the mobile phone and car play will actually be connected.
Does it function like a vehicle's OS, or does it just reflect information from a smartphone?
Either way, it doesn't matter to me since I'm an Android user (so I'm not really interested in it...sorry lol) ^^
