Porsche Engineering Group's Nardo Technical Center (NTC)
The Nardo Technical Center (NTC) is located in Puglia in southern Italy and is said to be the center of vehicle testing for Porsche and many other automakers around the world.
The site includes a 12.6km circular circuit, a 6.2km handling course and many other facilities for testing future vehicles, spread over an area of more than 700 hectares.
If you're wondering how big 700 hectares is, the AI says it's the size of about 149 Tokyo Domes. It's huge!
Here is an article I wrote previously about NTC:Porsche Nardò Technical Center and Taycan
In 2012, Porsche acquired the NTC, which is now an integral part of Porsche Engineering's overall development and testing capabilities.

The NTC operates year-round supporting customers in the automotive industry around the world and, from 2023, a software division in nearby Lecce is also expanding its technical capabilities in southern Italy.
Since acquiring NTC, the test site has been continuously modernized to further optimize the testing of future mobility technologies.
Porsche had presented plans to develop further NTCs to further expand the range of these services, but today's announcement reveals that the decision has been made not to move forward with these development plans.

In March 2024, the Puglia region decided to suspend the program contract for approving development plans, and the latest decision was to extend it until the end of March 2025.
Porsche's decision is the result of comprehensive consideration and intensive discussions with various stakeholders over the past few months, which included social, environmental and economic considerations. In particular, the current challenging environment and changing circumstances surrounding the global automotive industry are said to have played a major role in the decision to discontinue development.
The NTC will remain an integral part of Porsche's overall development and testing capabilities and a key partner to the international automotive industry, with vehicle testing continuing to be carried out at the site to accelerate innovative mobility technologies.
It may be difficult for Porsche to make further new investments at this time.
