[Edit] Two new things noticed about the 718 Cayman GT4 RS: The muffler cutter is made by Akrapovic

Posted on April 11, 2025 Updated on:

Well, the other dayI lined up my 718 Cayman GT4RS alongside the 718 Spyder RS.While I was writing this, I also noticed two new things, which I would like to write about.

First, the first one.

Until now, every time I bought a Porsche, I was worried about "Should I add this option?" or "I want to add this option."

The cost of the option is not that much for a Porsche, but "No, but this is just for my own satisfaction" and "I don't really need it after all" ...

I had considered it many times but had given up on it, and in the end, I decided to go with this option, which I had never installed before...

Wow.

This is this.

It's called an aluminum look fuel cap???

The design may currently be slightly different from the one that is actually available for an optional fee, but the GT4 RS came with this fuel cap as standard (normally it's just a black plastic cap)!

Wow, this was a very pleasant surprise. *The same thing happened with the Spider RS.

I had no idea that this fuel cap was standard equipment.

I got the optional parts that I've always wanted and have been too stingy to add until now (I couldn't (lol)), and they give me a burst of self-satisfaction!

This made me so happy ^^

And here's one more observation.

No, I hadn't noticed it before, so I only realized it after you told me (lol).

Here it is...

this.

Yes.

Regarding the muffler, I had heard that it would be made of titanium if you chose the Weissach package.

Actually here...

I hadn't even thought about it or knew anything about it...

Following your advice, I put my smartphone under the car to take a photo, and lo and behold!

This muffler was from Akrapovic.

★Addition★(2025.4.12)
Sorry, I was told in the comments and on social media that only the muffler cutter (the part that is attached to the muffler outlet) is Akrapovic, and the muffler itself is not Akrapovic. Sorry!!

It is made in Slovenia and has the name "Akrapovic" on it.

Well, I had no expectations for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, but these were two new discoveries that made me think, "That's it!" I'm happy ^^

ButAlthough it says it has an Akrapovic mufflerAll I can hear from inside the car is the intake noise, "bush, pop," which doesn't sound like it's coming from the same engine as a GT3, so I don't really understand it (laughs).

Of course, it seems to be completely different at higher speeds, so I'm looking forward to that (we're still breaking it in)!

Metal Slime attached to the 718 GT4 RS keyIt was still cute as always ^^

I'm enjoying my 718 Cayman GT4 RS. I'm glad I got the Ruby Star Neo (pink)! It's so cute and I really like it.
